Location, territory, topography and landforms
Baohe District is located in the middle of China, between the Yangtze River and Huaihe River, and on the shore of Chaohu Lake. It connects the river and the sea through the Nanfeihe River, connecting the east and the west, connecting the Central Plains and connecting the north and the south. Baohe District is bounded by five rivers, in which lakes, Baohe River, Nanfeihe River, Shiwuli River, Tangxi River and Paihe River flow, with Chaohu Lake in the south and Hefei in the west.
Baohe District is located in the Jianghuai hilly area, with relatively flat terrain, high in the north and low in the south. Geologically, Hefei area is located in Yanshanian fault basin, and the strata seen mainly come from Mesozoic and Jurassic. Due to the relaxation of ancient rivers, the lateral movement has been strengthened. Loose soil layers are piled up near the riverbed and the lakeside area, forming a plain. There are no mountains in this area.
