When do the azaleas in Emei Mountain bloom?
There is a special kind of rhododendron on Mount Emei, Rhododendron jinding, which is unique to Mount Emei. April to June is the best viewing time for Mount Emei. In spring, from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, there are blooming flowers everywhere. There are pear blossoms at the foot of the mountain and our precious golden azaleas at the top of the mountain.
Rhododendron is a unique species of rhododendron in Emei Mountain, also known as "Faber Rhododendron". A terminal racemose umbel with 6- 10 flowers; Corolla bell-shaped, white to reddish, with purple spots and white pubescence on the inner base, purple spots on the upper part, 5 lobes and round.

Mount Emei is misty and drizzling all day, which is very suitable for the growth and reproduction of rhododendrons, forming various original rhododendron forest landscapes. At present, there are about 30 species of rhododendrons distributed in the whole mountain, with different colors and postures, especially in the alpine areas above 2000 meters above sea level, where nearly two-thirds of the species are gathered. Every year from mid-April to June, all kinds of azaleas bloom for the second time, which are very popular with tourists because of their colorful and varied colors.
In order to build a festival brand, deepen the integration of culture and tourism, and expand the four-season tourism products that can be seen, heard, traveled, played and experienced, the theme of this year's Rhododendron Festival is "flowers before the Buddha in the mountains of the original Rhododendron forest", with Rhododendron flowers as the medium, landscapes as the scenery, and relying on culture, which fully explores and displays the beauty and charm of flowers. Brand-new three flower viewing routes (Dong Leiping-Xixiangchi Scenic Area), "Shili Flower Border" (Shuangshuijing Jieyin Temple), "Shenhua" (Jinding 3.354 million Buddha, 33.354 million Buddha), Thousand Buddha Temple, Ten Thousand Buddha Bell, Xianghua Valley and Shankeju are four major viewing spots, bringing tourists.
On the basis of traditional viewing, this year's Rhododendron Festival will also launch a series of online and offline activities, such as "Shake out new tricks" short video contest, looking for Rhododendron planting experience officials, and "Look at the clouds to see Rhododendron" live broadcast. Taking the activity as an opportunity, we will systematically carry out the cultivation of alpine rhododendron, and gradually build the protection and viewing center of alpine rhododendron in China.
