Four-character poem is a form different from free verse, also known as metrical poem. The quatrains and metrical poems in ancient poems belong to four-character poems, and some ancient poems also belong to four-character poems, but four-character poems are not limited to the number of words per line. Four-character poems are mostly four lines or multiples of four, such as eight lines and twelve lines.

For example:

Spring and sunshine fight every day.

The apricot blossoms are fragrant between the mountain slopes.

When is the idle mood?

Get hundreds of feet and thousands of feet of hairspring.

Another example is:

Dusk in the city falls obliquely to Zhumen.

There should be poor pedestrians.

The wheelbarrow in the alley passed by without wind.

The chill in winter is sky blue and high in the city.

The shadows of people in the street will not last long.

Where will the disillusionment on the red wall meet again?

Looking back, the green hills are full of white water.
