He has written military works such as Persisting in the War of Resistance in North China, Ambush Tactics, Offensive Tactics, and On the Principles of Military Thought. Zhou Enlai called Zuo Quan a "model of the Party" and Zhu De praised him as "a rare talent in the military field of China".
After Zuo Quan's death, Liu Zhilan repeatedly asked the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to cancel Zuo Quan's probation and punishment. Until 1982, the Central Committee of China finally wrote a written document to rehabilitate Zuo Quan and cancel the punishment.
