The Yellow Scarf Uprising, also known as the Yellow Scarf Rebellion and the Yellow Scarf Disaster, was a peasant war at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty and one of the largest religious uprisings in the history of China. At that time, the imperial court was corrupt, the eunuchs and consorts fought constantly, the frontier wars continued, the national situation was weakening day by day, and the tax revenue was not reduced because of the drought. They rose up one after another, tied yellow turbans on their heads, and shouted the slogan "Heaven will die, heaven will stand, and the world will be fine at the age of 60", which launched a fierce attack on bureaucratic landlords and had a great impact on the rule of the Eastern Han Dynasty. In order to quell the rebellion, all localities supported troops with self-respect. Although the uprising ended in failure, the situation of the warlord regime and the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty was irreversible, and finally the situation of the three countries was formed.

3. Significance

First, it put forward a clear goal of struggle, that is, to eliminate the regime of the Eastern Han Dynasty and establish its own rule, which played an important role in calling and uniting the people to participate in the uprising.

Second, propaganda and organization of the uprising in the form of religion, paralyzing the government, accumulating strength, and making relatively full preparations for the uprising.

Third, the plan of the uprising is careful and concrete. The so-called "internal and external rise" and "eight States concurrent" reflect this feature. Although the implementation of this uprising plan encountered great difficulties because of the traitor's informant, it was basically implemented after the decisive disposal of the opening angle, which dealt a heavy blow to the Eastern Han Dynasty.
