In the Preface of Zuo's Bamboo Planting in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, he first linked the style of Han and Wei with elegance and contention, and opposed the works without style and contention. The purpose of returning to elegance in this way is not to compete with beauty, but to maintain the tradition of sadness and generosity in Jian 'an style and to entrust the persuasion ideal and life spirit in poetry creation, which is contrary to the one-sided pursuit of "gorgeous competition"
