The color system of Hangzhou 19 Asian Games is the foundation and auxiliary element of the visual image system of the Asian Games. Its theme is "Light Makeup and Heavy Makeup", and it was designed by Guo Jinyong, Executive Director of Color Research Institute of China Academy of Fine Arts, Deputy Director of Comprehensive Design Department of School of Design and Art, Associate Professor and Doctor of Design.
Its design combines competitive sports spirit, China cultural elements, Hangzhou urban characteristics and international aesthetic style, rooted in Hangzhou's historical humanities, natural ecology and innovative genes, and echoes with visual symbols such as emblem, mascot, theme slogan and sports icon, shaping the overall atmosphere and aesthetic tone of Hangzhou Asian Games.
The color theme of the Hangzhou Asian Games is "light makeup and heavy makeup", which is inspired by the poem of Su Shi, a poet in the Song Dynasty, "If you want to compare with the West Lake, light makeup and heavy makeup are always appropriate".
By refining and concentrating China's color culture and Hangzhou's urban characteristics, we designed a color system with "Hongyun Purple" as the main color, supplemented by "reflecting the sun red, ink white, cinnamon yellow, water blue and lake green", showing the lush natural ecology, innovative vitality and sports passion of Hang Cheng Cai Hua in the new era.
