Near 9 o'clock, nearly 300 representatives from all walks of life held flowers and lined up in silence for the monument. "Salute in place!" With a cry, the ceremony began and the national anthem of the people of China was played. In the sound of mourning, all the staff mourned for the martyrs who died heroically for the revolutionary cause.
Then, "Song of Offering Flowers" sounded, and 16 ceremonial soldiers escorted eight flower baskets respectively, and walked slowly to the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument to present flower baskets to the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument. Zhou Jiangyong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, stepped forward to arrange the flower basket ribbons on behalf of the people of the whole city and all the officers and men of the troops stationed in Wenzhou.
After offering a flower basket, all the staff walked slowly to pay tribute to the list of revolutionary martyrs. This 4.5-meter-high and 39-meter-long list of heroes is engraved with the names of more than 3,900 martyrs.
Wenzhou is a hot land with a glorious revolutionary tradition. Taking part in this activity, many cadres and masses recalled history and felt a lot.
