Mopanshan National Forest Park is located in the southeast of Xinping Yi and Dai Autonomous County. 20 kilometers away from Xinping County. Named after a mountain shaped like a millstone. Mopanshan is the primary and secondary virgin forest area of semi-humid evergreen broad-leaved forest in Zhongshan, which is closest to Kunming. The forest stock is 443,059.2 cubic meters, and the forest coverage rate is 64.2%, of which shrubs account for 83.4%, covering an area of ***242 square kilometers. The park is rich in plant resources, including 324 species of higher plants belonging to 98 families 137 genera. With the increase of altitude, Mopan Mountain presents a vertical distribution zone of plants, which has high value in scientific research, teaching and ecotourism development.

During the Flower Festival, Mopanshan will also hold a performance of traditional Yi folk songs. Unmarried girls and boys in Yi villages will put on their costumes and gather in flower fields. People from all directions will meet at Mopanshan, playing Sanxian, Sixian, Reed and cigarette case.

Yi folk songs include Li Shu, Guess Qu, Panqu and Zaqu. Music is dominated by instrumental music "Three-String Tone", "Four-String Tone" and "Lusheng Tone". There are many kinds of Yi folk dances, among which smoke box dance is popular in Lukui Mountain and Mopan Mountain, with Qin Yue, Sanxian, Horn and Erhu. Encouragement, commonly known as "Mopi Flower Drum", spread in Mopi Village, Pingdian Township. It is a kind of sacrificial performance dance, which mainly shows the process of ancient battles.
