Soybean germination process
On February 12, I did an experiment of soybean seed germination. I prepared transparent glass, soybean seeds, soil, absorbent paper and other things. Then, I stick the absorbent paper on the inner wall of the cup, fill the cup with soil, pour water to make the absorbent paper wet, and then put the seeds between the inner wall of the cup and the absorbent paper. The following is my observation on the germination process of soybean seeds.

Germination process of soybean seeds

Observation content

Date and situation

Sowing date: February 12.

Seed coat cracking

February 15, when I was pouring water, I saw the seed coat cracked and a piece of white watercress.

Grow radicle

On February 18, I began to pour water, and I saw radicle growing out and radicle growing down, as if absorbing water.

cultivate bacteria

February 19, when I was observing, I saw the germ grow out. The sharp white germ grows upward, and it absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide in the air, just like people absorb oxygen.

Radicle growth

On February 2 1 day, I observed that radicle began to elongate. The radicle was elongated by one or two centimeters and grew into the root of bean sprouts.

Bacterial growth

On February 22, when I was pouring water, I accidentally found that the germ began to elongate and drill out the soil, like a comma on the soil.

Cotyledon excavation

Cotyledons are a little white and yellow, which is very nice.

Grow real leaves

On February 26th, I went to see it again. The comma shape of the germ disappeared, and it grew into leaves and stems. The leaves are green, tender and beautiful. There are two cotyledons under the leaves, which are a little yellow.

Cotyledon atrophy

On February 29th, I went to pour water again and saw two cotyledons flat, yellow and shriveled.

Other cases

On March 2, bean sprouts have now grown into seedlings with four leaves, the stem is about 5 cm and the root is three or four cm long. The seedlings are green and thick.
