He stood in the snow, hoping to get Dharma's attention, and finally the snow covered his knees.

Finally, Dharma saw him and asked him, what do you want to do after standing in the snow for a long time?

Shen Guang said: I have come to ask the monk to enlighten me. I hope the monk can open the door of compassion and help the suffering people.

Dharma replied that only after a long period of tempering and enduring the most unbearable and unbearable things in the world can De Xiaozhi understand the Buddha's supreme wonderful way, which is futile.

Shen Guang immediately cut off his left arm with a sharp sword that he carried with him, and put it in front of Dharma to show his sincerity to the magical methods of the Buddhas, so Dharma said that the dharma seals of the Buddhas could not be obtained from other places.

The divine light appeared.

It is said that in the last life, the Buddha once gave up himself in the mouth of a man-eating demon to gain the Tao. Similarly, because Zen is practical, Zen also hopes that we can sacrifice our lives for enlightenment and eternal peace with the same determination. Because Zen tells us that when we have this determination, its door will open. There are many such examples in the history of Zen. They are willing to lose a part of their bodies to seek Tao. Truth is more important than life. Why didn't the mage say at first, "You can't get the Buddhist seal from others?" Why do you want to stimulate the divine light to break your arm first? In fact, it was through the broken arm that Shen Guang discovered the fragility and brevity of life. Only by abandoning the body can we acquire eternal nature.
