The reason why Marvin caused a minor storm is because a few media practitioners at home and abroad "have no intention of seeking truth from facts and have the heart of grandstanding." This can't help but remind people of the saying that "there is nothing in the world, much ado about nothing". Seeking truth from facts, our party shouted for decades, as early as Yan' an period, it was inscribed by Chairman Mao on the gate of the Central Party School; It has been seven years since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee reiterated the ideological line of seeking truth from facts, but it is really "easier said than done".
In the history of our party and country, thousands of unjust, false and misjudged cases, almost every one of which was caused by not seeking truth from facts, were cast by distorting the true colors of things, spreading false information and adding mistakes to mistakes. It is precisely because some people are not realistic that a storm was formed in the early stage of the "Martin incident"; The reason why there has not been a bigger storm is precisely because of the correct intervention of the central leadership and the scientific attitude of experts and scholars to Marvin's analysis and comments. No one can say that similar incidents will be put an end to today and in the future. Therefore, we should sound the alarm of seeking truth from facts.
1) Emancipating the mind is actually the philosophical basis for building Socialism with Chinese characteristics Theory.
Based on the basic principle of seeking truth from facts, Deng Xiaoping correctly summed up historical experience, scientifically analyzed the basic national conditions of contemporary China, and founded Socialism with Chinese characteristics's scientific theory.
Our party's ideological line of seeking truth from facts was established by Mao Zedong. He combined Marxism with the concrete practice of China revolution, initiated the revolutionary line of China that no one had ever walked before, and established the ideological line of seeking truth from facts in the whole party. However, Mao Zedong deviated from the ideological line of seeking truth from facts in his later years, which made China's socialism suffer two serious setbacks: the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution. "Emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts" is formed in the process of summing up history. After the "Cultural Revolution", the beginning of bringing order out of chaos encountered a serious obstacle of "two whatevers". In order to break through the imprisonment and open up the situation, Deng Xiaoping, with the extraordinary courage and scientific attitude of Marxists, clearly put forward that the essence of Mao Zedong Thought is seeking truth from facts, led and supported the great discussion that practice is the only criterion for testing truth, and set out to solve the problem of the party's ideological line. 1The Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee held in February, 1978 criticized two general principles, put forward the slogan of "Emancipate your mind and use your head", advocated integrating theory with practice, set out from reality, affirmed that practice is the only criterion for testing truth, re-established the ideological line of seeking truth from facts, and laid a solid ideological foundation for building socialist theory with China characteristics.
I have always believed that the well-known integration of theory with practice is essentially a matter of knowing and doing. In-depth discussion on this issue needs to closely focus on the specific background of China's history and culture and draw on China's ideological resources. I think that Sun Yat-sen paid special attention to the important role of epistemology in the ideological construction (psychological construction) of the Party (Kuomintang) and regarded "the unity of knowledge and action" as the key to psychological construction. From the perspective of reflection, he once warned party member, the people, that the facts many years after the Revolution of 1911 completely violated his original intention, "it could have been carried forward from here", but it was difficult to "effectively implement". So, what is the reason? Sun Yat-sen said: "People in our Party are inevitably to blame, because they have no faith and have not carried out the purpose and general plan of the revolution;" The reason for this is that it is not all about shifting your mind to success, but actually because you have neglected your own ambitions because of your wrong thinking. What's wrong with this idea? In other words,' it is not difficult to know, but it is difficult to do' (author's note: this is from Shangshu). Therefore, Sun Yat-sen concentrated on analyzing and criticizing the so-called "knowing what is easy is difficult" in "General Plan for the Founding of the People's Republic of China", and clearly put forward the opposite of "knowing what is difficult and doing what is easy", which triggered many years of debate.
We can see that Sun Yat-sen attached great importance to his "General Plan for the Founding of the People's Republic of China" and regarded it as the result of his own reflection on the Revolution of 1911 (it is difficult for people to see this under the established mindset). This is clearly expressed in his preface. In Sun Yat-sen's eyes, the facts of many years after the Revolution of 1911 completely violated his original intention. "It could have been carried forward from now on", but it was difficult to "effectively implement". In other words,' it is not difficult to know, but it is difficult to do'. " Therefore, Sun Yat-sen concentrated on analyzing and criticizing the so-called "easier said than done" in the General Plan for the Founding of the People's Republic of China.
It should be said that for a long time, academic circles have misunderstood Sun Yat-sen's epistemology. We even think that Sun Yat-sen's view that it is difficult to identify the relationship between knowledge and action in isolation is of little significance (some people think it is a wrong view). More importantly, we should correctly understand the dialectical relationship between knowledge and behavior, especially the basic function of behavior, the source of knowledge, the standard of truth and so on. Generally speaking, knowledge must not be divorced from practice and must be tested by practice. Therefore, it is difficult and the most important thing here.
I think Sun Yat-sen's epistemological proposition has special significance. Under the specific social and historical conditions at that time, it particularly emphasized the important value of science, theory and logical reasoning and its powerful guiding role in practice. We often talk about integrating theory with practice, but it seems that the emphasis is on practice. We must never forget that integrating theory with practice requires theory first. Technology, science is the foundation. Sun Yat-sen started with the most practical examples in life, namely, "based on diet" (China is famous for its food culture, but it has no scientific significance in medicine and nutrition), "based on money" (China needs economics and finance) and "based on composition" (although writing has a long history, it also needs grammar and logic) to illustrate the importance of scientific, theoretical and logical thinking. Sun Yat-sen said, "If you are a scientist, you will learn from a unified system and a coherent system." . All real knowledge and special knowledge must come from science. The so-called knowledge beyond science is mostly untrue knowledge. "In addition, Sun Yat-sen also mentioned that China still needs architecture, engineering, electricity and chemistry, and various disciplines need to cross and influence each other, and so on.
In fact, it goes without saying that science, theory, logical thinking and logical reasoning are exactly what our traditional culture lacks. Sun Yat-sen really grasped this key flaw .. This is the greatness of Sun Yat-sen. ..
Sun Yat-sen also attacked the theory of "knowing is easier than doing" from the perspective of opposing feudal political rule. In his view, the obscurantism policy of feudal politics, which Confucius called "people can make it, but not make it known", just proves that "it is easy to do things despite difficulties".
In connection with this, it should also be noted that Sun Yat-sen's proposal to solve the epistemological problem as the primary issue of the founding of the People's Republic of China is of extraordinary significance (we often say that the ideological line plays a decisive role, and there is no revolutionary movement without revolutionary theory, with similar meaning, except that Sun Yat-sen had his special considerations under the historical conditions at that time). This is the problem of "psychological construction" (Sun Wen's theory) that he first involved in the General Plan for the Founding of the People's Republic of China, and then he talked about "material construction" (industrial plan) and "social construction" (preliminary civil rights). "Psychological construction" is regarded by Sun Yat-sen as "extraordinary construction" because "the people of China lack knowledge". Sun Yat-sen proposed that there should be not only a "destructive revolution" but also a "constructive revolution". As far as I know, the content of "psychological construction" proposed by Sun Yat-sen is very rich. It can be regarded as the epitome of Sun Yat-sen's cultural thought.
