Public service advertisements first appeared in the United States in the early 1940s. They are also called public service advertisements and public moral advertisements. They are non-profit advertisements serving the public. In China, public service advertisements are broadcast through TV media, and the earliest one is Save Water produced by Guiyang TV Station 1986.
