Botou Vocational Education Center is located at the west bank of the ancient Grand Canal-the intersection of Yuhua Road and Yong 'an Street in Botou City, with convenient transportation, elegant environment and profound cultural heritage. The school was founded in 1995. After 16 years' efforts, it has developed into a key secondary vocational school in Hebei Province, which integrates academic education, employment education, skills training and appraisal. It has been successively recognized as a model vocational and technical school in Hebei Province, a mold industry training base in Hebei Province, a special industry appraisal center for electronics and electricians in Hebei Province, a sunshine engineering training base in Cangzhou City, a labor export training base in Cangzhou City and Botou City. The school covers an area of 150 mu, with a building area of 30,000 square meters and a training area of 9,540 square meters. It has a comprehensive teaching building, a mechatronics training building, a science and technology experimental building and a canteen, and two student apartment buildings. It has a fully functional mechanical training workshop, an electronic and electrical training room, a microcomputer room, an electronic lesson preparation room, a multimedia room, a ballroom, a piano room, a reading room and a physical and chemical laboratory. The library has more than 60,000 books and subscribed to more than 200 newspapers and magazines. The circular playground, basketball court, football field, table tennis room, student bathroom, infirmary, campus supermarket and other sports, entertainment and living facilities are complete.
The school has three majors, including machinery, microcomputer, electronic electrician, accounting, architecture, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, numerical control processing technology, automobile manufacturing and maintenance, modern office, mold design, mechatronics, welding technology and preschool education, with more than 2,700 students. In 2009, in order to speed up the training of practical talents in new rural construction, the school added three majors: modern agronomy technology, breeding and rural economic management, and trained 1228 people as dual leaders in new rural construction.
