Nanyang Middle School was founded in the 22nd year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1896). 1900, Wang Peisun was ordered by his uncle Wang Weitai to take over the educational materials. After Wang Peisun took over the education school, he went to Japan to inspect education. Shortly after returning to China, he changed the name of the school to Nanyang Middle School, and the school name was 1904. 1907, the school bought 6 mu of land at Rihui Bridge on Longhua Road (now located at No.225, Zhongshan South Second Road). 18 mu of land was purchased in 2008 for new school buildings.
