1. Why is it so difficult to break through the comfort zone?
Comfort zone is a psychological concept. Simple understanding is everyone's daily routine behavior pattern, which makes people feel comfortable and can avoid stress and anxiety to the maximum extent.
Comfort zones vary from person to person. If the comfort zone is set to a range, different people will have different feelings about the size and range of the comfort zone. Take speaking as an example. Some people find it difficult to speak in public, and they seldom speak in public at ordinary times. Then speaking in public is outside the comfort zone of this person, and speaking in public will make this person feel anxious. Perhaps for another person who is keen on speaking in public, the same thing is in the comfort zone.
Why is it so difficult to break through the comfort zone? Because our brains like a natural, relaxed and stress-free state. Breaking through the comfort zone is actually a struggle with self-awareness. However, the purpose of breaking through the comfort zone is not to break through for the sake of breaking through, but more importantly, to expand the boundaries of the comfort zone, adapt to some new things outside, and make things that were originally stressful or anxious become a part of the comfort zone. In this way, it means that our energy is stronger.
When we constantly do something that breaks through the comfort zone in our daily life, we will gradually open our horizons and be more calm when encountering unexpected changes. At the same time, when we start to try something that breaks through the comfort zone, it will become easier and easier to try new efforts. Every effort will give us a certain sense of accomplishment and stimulate our next behavior to break through the comfort zone. In other words, breaking through the comfort zone is also a process of constantly developing personal potential.
Second, break through the four basic principles of comfort zone.
Principle 1: Be proactive, take your time and stick to it.
Breaking through the comfort zone itself is a difficult thing. Don't rush in, or it will be counterproductive. If you are under too much pressure, your psychological instinct will refuse to act. We can set 1-2 small things or new things that we haven't done before every day, such as sending an email or making a phone call to a friend we haven't contacted for a long time. When we are used to trying new things, we should set something that is combined with our goals. For example, our goal is to improve interpersonal relationships, so can we set this to actively communicate with those who have offended or those who have offended ourselves to eliminate misunderstandings? This process can be gradual or slow, but it should be continuous. When we get used to breaking through the comfort zone and constantly stimulating the brain, our brain will gradually adapt to and like this process. The process of constantly doing is the process of constantly stimulating the brain and constantly accepting changes. Over time, our brain's ability to adapt to change will become faster and faster.
Principle 2: Return to the comfort zone in due course.
While seeking to break through the comfort zone, we should also return to the comfort zone at the right time. We are not trying new things to break through the comfort zone. More importantly, we should broaden the boundaries of the comfort zone and turn the behavior patterns that we were unable or unwilling to adapt into our own comfort zone. This requires us to return to our comfort zone at the right time, to recall, to summarize and to adapt. Turn discomfort into comfort!
Principle 3: the key is to do it, the key is to do it!
Needless to say, breaking through the comfort zone must be reflected in action. Only by constantly doing it is the real breakthrough in the comfort zone. Otherwise, we will never be able to break through ourselves and overcome our inertia and psychological barriers.
Principle 4: shameless, persistent, persistent shameless.
This is the slogan of Touma Club, which I think is particularly good. All personal growth, one thing that must be done is to break through the comfort zone, shameless, shameless persistence, in order to achieve the first three principles, especially the third principle!
Third, break through the comfort zone and cultivate strong psychological quality and quick response ability.
To become a master speaker, we must first overcome psychological barriers and cultivate strong psychological quality and quick response ability. Here are some methods that I personally think are better:
1, chat. Chatting with strangers is a good way to exercise our psychological quality, and it can also exercise our observation ability, empathy ability, listening ability, and perhaps unexpected gains, such as hitchhiking, making good friends, and even hitting on a girl (handsome guy).
2. bargaining. Try to shop offline, and supermarkets don't recommend it. You can go to large shopping malls or bazaars. It's a good idea to try to bargain with the boss every time you shop. You can bargain with different people every time. Of course, if you exercise well, you can really save a lot of money.
3. question authority. Of course, questioning authority is based on reason and restraint. We can question what we think is right (spirit) and Tao, at best, face to face.
4. debate. In daily life, there will be differences on many occasions. For example, colleagues or friends will mention some current issues when chatting. These issues are not right or wrong, but they can quickly form an atmosphere of debate. You might as well take the initiative to initiate or participate in such topics.
5. Make a positive speech at the meeting. In our daily work, we will go through many meetings, which is also a rare opportunity that we can't miss.
6. Participate in a formal speech contest or club. Whether it is a unit or a social organization, sometimes some speech contests will be organized, and you can take the initiative to participate. You can also join some clubs to create more opportunities for public speaking. It is understood that Touma Club is a club dedicated to improving its speaking ability and leadership. You can also participate in some activities such as reading clubs and salons.
……
There are still many ways. As long as we are willing to do it, take the initiative to do it, take our time, persist in doing it, and persist in being shameless, each of us can find many ways to constantly break through our comfort zone and cultivate strong psychological quality and quick response ability!
Write here, I remembered a sentence:
When you are struggling to go, go; When you are wondering whether to do it or not, do it!
I firmly believe that there will always be unexpected gains!
Let's get started. Go, now, now!
