White pollution is a very worthy environmental protection problem. In the years of eliminating and rectifying white pollution, small traders and some businesses repeatedly used plastic bags and foam tableware, the most important reason of which was that plastic bags and foam were cheap and easy to carry, which was dubbed as one of the most "great" inventions in the 20th century, but we must face up to their great harm to human body and nature! During the summer vacation, I made a survey about white pollution. Investigation course: 1: Investigation on the use of plastic bags in supermarkets and farmers' markets. In my investigation, I found that most plastic bags come from farmers' markets and large supermarkets, but in shopping malls, plastic bags are rarely seen, replaced by exquisite paper bags. Why? It turns out that farmers' markets and large supermarkets have many customers and large purchases, and many items are often of low value. If paper bags are used, there will be a large number of paper bags piled up in customers' homes, occupying more space; Moreover, paper bags are generally printed with more exquisite patterns, which are more expensive, and supermarkets and farmers' markets are afraid of such high costs; Plastic bags are small in size, low in cost, easy to carry and can be used as garbage bags, so they are favored by consumers! Although there are many customers in shopping malls, single items are often expensive. Compared with farmers' markets and supermarkets, the purchase volume is not large, which will not pile up into mountains and will not affect the profits of shopping malls. Therefore, paper bags are widely used in shopping malls. In the survey, I interviewed many citizens who are shopping at the farmer's market. They all carry many plastic bags. Take a closer look, there are several small plastic bags in the big plastic bag outside, with an average of 5 ~ 7. I also interviewed citizens who were shopping in the supermarket. Each of them carries about 3 ~ 5 plastic bags. I counted carefully. There are 6 million people in Hangzhou. If it's a family of three, it's 2 million families. Great! 2. White pollution has two kinds of hazards. Visual pollution and potential harm. Visual pollution refers to plastic bags, foam boxes, cups and bowls scattered in the environment, which bring bad stimulation to people's vision and affect the aesthetic feeling of the environment. A few years ago, someone joked that there are two Great Walls in Wan Li, one is the ancient Great Wall and the other is the White Great Wall. White lunch boxes and plastic bags are everywhere along the China Railway, which is visual pollution. In our school, disposable lunch boxes and plastic bags of various colors can be seen everywhere. When the wind blows, plastic bags fly all over the sky, which seriously affects the beauty of the campus. The potential harm of white pollution is various. 1, plastic bags and disposable foamed plastic lunch boxes contain foods that seriously affect our health. When the temperature reaches 65℃, harmful substances in disposable foamed plastic tableware will penetrate into food, causing damage to human liver, kidney and central nervous system. Therefore, on April 23rd, 20001year, the State Economic and Trade Commission issued the Emergency Notice on Immediately Stopping the Production of Disposable Foamed Plastic Tableware, demanding that the production of disposable foamed plastic lunch boxes be stopped. The ultra-thin plastic bags we use to hold food now are generally PVC plastic. As early as forty years ago, it was found that vinyl chloride monomer remained in PVC plastics. When people come into contact with vinyl chloride, there will be symptoms such as wrist and finger edema, skin sclerosis, spleen enlargement, liver injury and so on. 1975, the United States prohibits the packaging of food and beverages with PVC plastics. In China, what is more serious is that almost all the ultra-thin plastic bags we use come from the reuse of waste plastics, which are produced by small enterprises or family workshops. CCTV's "News Investigation" program group has made unannounced visits to the manufacturers of plastic bags. The raw materials used by these manufacturers are discarded plastic barrels, pots and disposable syringes. In production, the raw materials are crushed into plastic particles by machinery, then the plastic particles are put into a pool for cleaning, taken out and dried, and then pressed into films by machinery to make various plastic bags. It is impossible for this membrane to remove all toxic and harmful substances by simple water washing. Plastic bags made of these raw materials will naturally contain all kinds of germs and harmful compounds, which will definitely endanger human health. In particular, we should remind everyone that when these recycled plastics are processed into plastic bags, red and blue dyes are added to cover up the problem of impure colors. 2. Deteriorating the soil environment and seriously affecting the growth of crops. The plastic products currently used in China are generally non-degradable, and the molecular weight is above 20,000. Only when the molecular weight drops below 2000 can it be used by microorganisms in nature, which takes at least 200 years. Waste agricultural film and plastic bags remain in farmland for a long time, which will affect the permeability of soil and hinder the flow of water, thus affecting the absorption of water and nutrients by crops, inhibiting the growth and development of crops and causing crop yield reduction. If livestock eat plastic film, it will cause digestive tract diseases and even death. 3. Landfill is still the main way to deal with municipal waste in China. Due to the low density and large volume of plastic film, it can quickly fill the site and reduce the ability of landfill to treat garbage; Moreover, due to the soft foundation of the landfill, harmful substances such as bacteria and viruses in the garbage can easily penetrate into the ground, pollute the groundwater and endanger the surrounding environment. 4. If waste plastics are burned directly, it will cause serious secondary pollution to the environment. When plastics are burned, it will not only produce a lot of black smoke, but also produce dioxin, which is by far the most toxic substance. It takes at least 15 months for dioxins to decompose gradually after entering the soil, which is harmful to plants and crops. Dioxin has serious damage to the liver and brain of animals. The environmental pollution caused by dioxins produced by garbage incineration has become a sensitive issue of concern all over the world. It seems that plastics and foam do great harm to human body and nature, and it is extremely immoral for small traders to ignore consumers' health and natural environment for petty profits. They forget that they also live on this earth, and they also need to consider the life and death of the earth. After all, the earth is the same home where all of us live! Have they ever thought that if the land is stiff, what they eat and use, and if the balance of nature is seriously unbalanced, their lives will also be threatened! 3. Expert Comments: Interview with Associate Professor Chen Hong from College of Environment and Resources, Zhejiang University. During the summer vacation, I interviewed Associate Professor Chen Hong from College of Environment and Resources, Zhejiang University. She told me that with more and more attention paid to the "white pollution" caused by discarded plastic bags, the voice of promoting fully degradable plastic bags is getting higher and higher. At present, most degradable bags used in China are "disintegrated" plastic bags. Although the "disintegrated" plastic bag is still not completely degraded at the molecular level, if about 30% calcium carbonate or starch is added to replace the plastic raw materials when making plastic bags, the amount of plastic can be reduced by 30%, thus directly reducing the environmental burden. At the same time, plastics, as a by-product of petroleum, belong to non-renewable resources, and saving the amount of plastic raw materials is of great significance to reduce resource waste. Moreover, the price of "disintegrated" plastic bags is similar to or even lower than that of ordinary plastic bags, and the market competitive advantage is obvious, which is an expedient measure to replace ordinary plastic bags at this stage. 4. Coping strategies: learn from model cities and protect beautiful homes! During the investigation, I learned that foam can be degraded by a nutritional health product called deep-sea fish oil. I witnessed an experiment: pour a drop of deep-sea fish oil into a foam container, and then pour boiling water into it. After 30 seconds, a hole appeared on the foam container, indicating that the foam container was degraded successfully! But a bottle of deep-sea fish oil costs more than 150 yuan, and the cost is daunting! So it can't be popularized. Fortunately, degradable plastic bags have been born, showing hope and dawn to the world. I am delighted to see on the Internet that under the joint promotion of Shenzhen Economic and Trade Bureau, Shenzhen Environmental Protection Bureau and Shenzhen Packaging Industry Association, Shenzhen has taken the lead in promoting the use of degradable plastic shopping bags, and supermarkets and major shopping malls are the first choice for promotion. It is reported that the degradable plastic shopping bags popularized and used for the first time in Shenzhen are implemented according to the national standards, the national industry standard QB/T2461-KLOC-0/999 "Degradable Polyethylene Film for Packaging" and the technical requirements of the logo product HJ 12-2000 "Packaging Products" of the State Environmental Protection Administration. All manufacturers set inspection standards for their products according to this standard. Because the production scale, technical level and management level of related enterprises are basically the same, the sales price can be basically unified. Experts pointed out that in order to promote brand products and prevent counterfeiting, all degradable plastic packaging products will adopt a unified logo and apply for national trademark registration, so that consumers can identify product brands in use. The "Shenzhen Joint Group for Promoting the Use of Degradable Plastic Packaging Products" also decided to announce to the public the relevant supervision telephone number and unified logo on degradable plastic packaging products, so as to facilitate extensive supervision by the society and accept reports from consumers on counterfeit and shoddy products in the market. In the process of promoting the use of degradable plastic packaging products in Shenzhen, the way of promoting first and then prohibiting by legislation will be adopted, so that degradable plastic packaging products can meet the requirements of degradation and the price can be accepted by the market. For manufacturers, mature one, identify one, announce one, mature one, identify one and promote one. At the just-concluded first appraisal meeting, the technical indicators, hygiene indicators and degradation performance of the photobiodegradable plastic masterbatch and its plastic packaging film products produced by Shenzhen Baozhongmaoda Environmental Biochemical Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Danhai Co., Ltd. all reached the national standards and could meet the market demand. At the same time, the price of degradable plastic bags is close to that of ordinary plastic film products, which is easily accepted by the market. Experts suggest that Shenzhen manufacturers should strengthen technology development to improve the degradation level of products, and finally achieve the goal of completely eliminating disposable packaging film products for the environment. Survey results: I want to shout loudly and hope that everyone will refuse to use non-degradable plastic bags. Through interviews and investigations, I know that at present, the use of non-degradable plastic bags and foamed tableware is very, very large, and the consequences of use are very, very serious, which has threatened the survival and development of mankind, so serious that mankind has to face it squarely, study it and rectify it. Every responsible citizen should consciously and voluntarily refuse to use non-degradable plastic bags and choose environmentally-friendly degradable plastic bags. Even if individuals pay more money in a short period of time, our contribution to protecting the environment, protecting the earth and the sustainable development of mankind will be minimal, and it will also be a great reward for future generations of Fuze.
