May 19 is China Tourism Day every year, which is an illegal holiday. The festival originated on May 19, 2006. Ma Shaoqin of Ninghai, Zhejiang proposed to set up "China Tourism Day" in the name of Xu Xiake Travel Club in Ninghai, and suggested that the opening day of the first diary of Xu Xiake's Travels (May 19) be named China Tourism Day.

20 1 1 On March 30th, the executive meeting of the State Council passed a resolution to designate May 19 every year as "China Tourism Day" from 2011. The main activity of "519 China Tourism Day" in 2023 will be held in Tengchong City, Yunnan Province. China Tourism Day is related to Xu Xiake, a great traveler, geographer, historian and writer in Ming Dynasty.

Festival logo:

In order to publicize the significance of establishing China Tourism Day, the National Tourism Administration collected the logo and image slogan of China Tourism Day from the whole society from April 1 12 to May 2. The solicitation activities received positive response from the public. In just 2 1 day, * * * received nearly 4000 applications.

Among them, there are more than 420 image logo designs and more than 7,000 propaganda slogans. The entries are mainly from 29 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, Taiwan Province Province and Canada. The oldest contributor is 83 years old and the youngest is 19 years old. Most of the payers are students, teachers, civil servants and retirees, and tourism professionals also account for a certain proportion.
