According to Article 7 of Chapter 2 of the Regulations of China People's Liberation Army on Servicemen, noncommissioned officers are selected from conscripts who have completed active service. The selection of conscripts as noncommissioned officers must meet the following basic conditions:

(a) voluntary dedication to the cause of national defense;

(2) Being competent for the work;

(3) Graduated from junior high school or above;

(4) being in good health.

According to the needs of the army, non-commissioned officers can also be recruited directly from citizens with professional skills in non-military departments. To become a non-commissioned officer, you need to have the intention to stay in the army, and it also depends on whether the army needs you. If the army needs you, it can be turned into a non-commissioned officer with the approval of units at or above the regiment level.
