With the recovery of national economy, geophysical exploration has ushered in another spring.

1. Geophysical exploration was greatly disturbed by the influence of the Cultural Revolution.

From 65438 to 0966, at the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, leading organs and management departments at all levels, including geophysical exploration production management institutions at all levels, were paralyzed one after another. The field geophysical prospecting work in many places can't be carried out normally. 1969, many universities and research institutes were ordered to move to the "third line", and the geophysical research work was almost completely interrupted.

During the Cultural Revolution, all normal production management and technical management systems were impacted, the design report and quality inspection system were seriously damaged, and the technical responsibility system was denied. No one is responsible for the general decline in the quality of geophysical exploration.

Take the geological department as an example. It was not until 1970 that the Geological Bureau of the State Planning Commission was established and the management of the geophysical exploration team was gradually restored. Statistics show that the annual geophysical exploration cost of geological system 1966 is19.54 million yuan, decreasing year by year, and 1968 is14.9 million yuan; From 1969 to 197 1 reached 20.48 million yuan, returning to the level before the Cultural Revolution. 1975, the State Council proposed to further strengthen geological work, and the Geological Bureau of the State Planning Commission was reorganized into the State Administration of Geology, and the geophysical exploration work of the Geological Division was further resumed.

2. Eliminate interference and work under difficult circumstances.

Under the slogan of "preparing for war, preparing for famine, serving the people" and "accelerating the construction of the third line", even in the most chaotic period of the Cultural Revolution, iron ore and oil and gas exploration were vigorously carried out in various places; Southern coal-deficient provinces and regions have strengthened coal exploration; Strengthening the geological work of finding water to support agriculture in arid provinces of North China. Although the external conditions were very difficult at that time, geophysicists took national interests and career development as their own responsibility, made use of various possibilities and tried their best to stick to their jobs. During the turbulent decade, especially after the 1970s, the working order was partially restored, and a series of important technological progress and a number of important geological achievements were achieved.
