Karakorum Mountain is one of the most developed alpine glaciers in the world. It is located on the borders of China, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. The mountain range is about 240 kilometers wide and 800 kilometers long, with an average elevation of more than 5000 meters. There are 4 seats above 8000 meters and 15 seats above 7500 meters. Glaciers develop in mountainous areas, with a total area of 18600 square kilometers, of which about 102 glaciers are longer than 10 kilometers. There are eight glaciers with a length of more than 50 kilometers in the middle and low latitudes in the world, and Karakorum accounts for six. The average height of the snow line is 5000 meters. Anyone familiar with the geography of China knows Karakorum, and anyone familiar with the history of China knows the Silk Road. The Silk Road is divided into land and sea. The land route starts from Chang 'an, the capital of the Western Han Dynasty, and passes through the Hexi Corridor. Then it is divided into two routes: one starts from Yangguan, passes through Shanshan, goes west along the northern foot of Kunlun Mountain, passes through shache, and crosses the green ridge in the west, leaving Dayue to rest in peace, or enters from Dayue in the south. The other one goes out of Yumenguan, passes through the former Cheshi country, goes west along the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain, goes out of Shule, crosses Qingji in the west, crosses Daguan Bay, and reaches Kangju and Chae Yeon (nomadic in the northwest of Kangju in the Western Han Dynasty, that is, the grassland in the North Caspian Sea, and belongs to Kangju in the Eastern Han Dynasty). Thousands of years ago, the commercial road connecting the political, economic and cultural roads between China and the West crossed the Karakorum Mountain, which was then called the Green Ridge. At an altitude of 5,570 meters, the entrance of the Karakorum Mountain in Shenxian Bay is a traditional trade channel between India, Pakistan and China, and it is also the largest and most important pass in the whole Karakorum Mountain. Looking at the map of Xinjiang in 2004, we can still find a place called Sam Green Ridge in Karakorum Mountain. In China's myths and legends, "* * * public anger can't reach the surrounding mountains", and in the novel The Journey to the West, the story of Tang Priest's master and apprentice getting rid of demons while learning from the scriptures is all related to Karakorum.
Shenxianwan Post faces the Karakorum Pass, about 9 kilometers away from the border, and its geographical location and strategic significance are very important. Because, if you want to climb mountains and mountains like Karakorum, you can only pass through several mountain passes.
