The process of anti-hunger, anti-civil war and anti-persecution movement
On the same day, students from 2/KLOC-0 universities and middle schools in North China held a 10,000-person anti-hunger and anti-civil war demonstration in Peiping and Tianjin. Students who marched in Nanjing and Tianjin were beaten, which caused the May 20th bloody case that shocked the whole country. The atrocities of the Kuomintang aroused the students' anger even more, and they continued to fight against the Kuomintang reactionaries through strikes and demonstrations. From late May to mid-June, the slogan of "anti-hunger, anti-civil war and anti-persecution" resounded through more than 60 large and medium-sized cities in the Kuomintang-ruled areas such as Wuhan, Xi, Changsha, Chongqing, Chengdu and Fuzhou. Almost all college students and most middle school students in Kuomintang-ruled cities participated in this struggle, with the number reaching 600,000. This movement is the largest in the history of student movement in China. People from all walks of life all over the country also rose to support the just struggle of patriotic students. This movement cooperated with the People's Liberation Army's war against Chiang Kai-shek's reactionary army and dealt a heavy blow to the reactionary rule of the Kuomintang.
