The background of the sixteen-character formula
The 16-character formula was summed up from the early guerrilla warfare practice of the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants. Mao Zedong led the autumn harvest uprising troops in Hunan and Jiangxi provinces, and in June 1927+00, he moved to Jinggangshan area in western Jiangxi, mobilized and organized the people, implemented the "armed regime of workers and peasants", carried out guerrilla warfare extensively, and gained preliminary practical experience. 1928 1 Mao Zedong presided over a joint meeting of the former enemy Committee of the first division of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Revolutionary Army of the Chinese Production Party, the Suichuan County Committee and the Wan 'an County Committee in suichuan county to sum up the experience and lessons of guerrilla warfare in recent months and study the issue of further guerrilla warfare. Soon, when the enemy attacked Suichuan, Mao Zedong avoided the strong enemy and led his troops back to Jinggangshan. When the enemy attacked Wan 'an, China Wan 'an County Committee adopted the policy of "clearing the field, retreating when the enemy came, chasing when the enemy moved, disturbing when the enemy was stationed, and attacking when the enemy was few". In April of the same year, after the establishment of the Fourth Army of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Revolutionary Army, Zhu De, the commander of the army, and Mao Zedong, the party representative, also commanded the troops, which further enriched the contents of the guiding principles of guerrilla warfare in guerrilla activities and combat practice against the enemy. In the historical documents found so far, the principle of "the enemy advances and I retreat, the enemy forces me to disturb, the enemy forces me to fight, and the enemy forces me to chase" is completely mentioned. It was first reported by the former enemy Committee of the Fourth Army of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army (formerly known as the Chinese Workers and Peasants Revolutionary Army)1April 5, 929. 1On September 28th, 929, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China's instruction letter to the front committee of the Red Fourth Army (that is, the letter in September) was first summed up as "16-character formula".
