Definition of VR, AR and MR:
What is virtual reality?
Virtual Reality (VR for short) is a high-tech that has emerged in recent years, also known as spiritual technology or artificial environment. Virtual reality is a three-dimensional virtual world generated by computer simulation, which provides users with visual, auditory, tactile and other sensory simulations, enabling users to observe things in three-dimensional space in a timely and unrestricted manner, just like personal experience.
What is augmented reality?
Augmented reality (AR) is also called mixed reality. It applies virtual information to the real world through computer technology, and superimposes the real environment and virtual objects on the same picture or space in real time.
What is mixed reality?
Mix reality (MR), including augmented reality and augmented virtual, refers to a new visual environment created by integrating reality and virtual world. In the new visual environment, physical and digital objects exist and interact in real time. The system usually adopts three main features: 1. It combines virtual and reality; 2. In virtual 3D (3D registration); 3. Run in real time.
The difference between VR and AR:
Simply put, virtual reality (VR), the scenes and characters you see are fake, that is, substituting your consciousness into a virtual world. Augmented Reality (AR) is to bring virtual information into the real world by seeing scenes and people that are half true and half false.
Interactive distinction
VR devices: Because VR is a pure virtual scene, VR devices are more commonly used for the interaction between users and virtual scenes, such as position tracker, data glove (such as 5DT), motion capture system and data helmet.
AR equipment: Because AR is a combination of real scene and virtual scene, it basically needs a camera. On the basis of the pictures taken by the camera, virtual pictures can be displayed and interacted, such as Google Glass (in fact, strictly speaking, only products with cameras, such as IPAD and mobile phone, can be used for AR, as long as AR software is installed. )
