Gogol, formerly known as Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol Anovskii, is a famous Russian critical writer. His masterpieces include Dead Soul and Imperial Envoy, and his works have shocked Russia and the world.

In 189, Nikolai Gogol was born in a small town below Poltava province. During his childhood, he became very interested in drama and literature. He has been trying to write something, but his published works have never been successful. It was not until the spring of 183, when Gogol was 21 years old, that one of his novellas, The Night Before St. John's Day, was published in a magazine. The letter was written by a young man to a friend in Petersburg. In the letter, he laughed at the fools who mistook themselves for imperial envoys and gave every official an embarrassing nickname. When the mayor and the officials were speechless for this matter, the real imperial envoy arrived. The curtain fell when everyone was stupefied. The irony and reversal in the ending of "An Imperial Envoy" made everyone stupefied. Gogol used skillful writing to satirize the faces of the mayor and those bureaucrats incisively and vividly.

in June, 1836, Nikolai Gogol left Russia to travel abroad and began to live as an expatriate for six years. At first, he came to Rome, and in January 1837, his good friend Pushkin died in a conspiracy.
