Loneliness and sadness may not go together. Just as a person surrounded by friends is likely to be an orphan of friendship, a lonely person may not be sick.

We lack two spirits, one is the spirit of traveling, and the other is the spirit of celibacy.

Traveling far away is a kind of courage to say goodbye to the past and the ecology that one's life has adapted to. Sometimes traveling far away is a kind of helplessness, a kind of forced migration. But in such helplessness, Du Fu wrote "Three Officials" and "Three Farewells", and Xu Xiake wrote the most beautiful landscapes. Perhaps, a long journey is destined to be scarred, but the reason why the river is boundless is because it has sunk countless ship masts, and the reason why Mount Everest is so tall is because it has buried the remains of countless climbers. The universe is so vast because countless stars have fallen. The reason why the sea is vast is that it has created ancient Greek myths that have lasted for thousands of years.

Another kind of spirit is the spirit of celibacy. The loneliness of being single is sometimes a kind of happiness. There is no kind truth in the noise. The profundity and shallowness of history, the decline and prosperity of nature, the passion and throbbing of life, will not be side by side with the noise. Therefore, wise men always choose silence, so in loneliness they walked out of Kant, walked out of Hegel, and walked out of a classical era of philosophy. Loneliness is sometimes a kind of helplessness, a kind of exile that is not accepted, but if you are not understood, it is better to turn your head and wander alone. Vulgarity always excludes uniqueness, smallness always slanders greatness, the top of a mountain is always higher than the base, so it is doomed to be lonely.

If you are enjoying loneliness, there is no need to be afraid. It may be that the world is recommending them to another peak.
