Peter? Ilych? Tchaikovsky (Russian: пётрл?ичайковский) Tchaikovsky was born on May 7, 184 in the family of a mining engineer and director of a government-run metallurgical factory. He graduated from the Petersburg Law School in 1859 and worked in the Ministry of Justice. In 1861, he entered the Music Class of the Russian Music Association (the following year, he was transformed into the Petersburg Conservatory of Music). In 1863, he resigned from the Ministry of Justice and devoted himself to music. After graduating in 1865, he taught at Moscow Conservatory of Music and actively created works, and the first batch of works came out. Funded by Nadezhda von Meek, a rich widow, she resigned from teaching in 1877 to specialize in creation. During 1878-1885, he traveled and performed in western European countries and the United States many times. In June 1893, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Cambridge University in England. At the end of October of the same year, he died shortly after conducting the first performance of Symphony No.6 in Petersburg.
His works reflect the depressed psychology of Russian intellectuals and their deep desire for a happy life under the autocratic rule of the czar. Focus on revealing people's inner contradictions, full of strong dramatic conflicts and passionate feelings. His representative works are: Symphony No.4, Symphony No.5 and Symphony No.6 (Pathetic Symphony), Opera "Yevgeny? Onegin, Queen of Spades, ballet Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Piano Concerto No.1, Violin Concerto, Variations on Rocco Theme, String Quartet No.1, Piano Trio in Memory of the Great Artist, Symphony Overture 1812, Fantasy Overture Romeo and Juliet, etc.
Tchaikovsky's famous saying:
1. The same opinions and feelings can bring two people together better than contact. In this way, although they are far apart, they are also very close.
2. Inspiration is not waving beautifully at all, but the mental state of working as hard as a healthy cow.
3. It is not the connection of flesh and blood, but the connection of emotion and spirit that gives one person the right to help another.
