Laozi regards weakness as a magic weapon to attack and defeat the strong. On the basis of in-depth observation of nature and society, Lao Tzu realized that weak things are often more vital, while strong and rigid things are often easily destroyed.
Lao Tzu's so-called weakness without contention means not seeking strength, not seeking strength, being good at using the natural law of things' development, controlling rigidity with softness, and achieving success. "Combining rigidity with softness" is the only way to win and survive. In real life, those who are arrogant, sharp-edged and confident always fail. And those who dare to show weakness save their lives. Therefore, Lao Tzu said, "The strong beam will not die." Violent people always die of natural causes
Laozi's thought of "combining rigidity with softness" inspires us college students to value harmony, not to be overbearing and sharp-edged, and to constantly improve their inner cultivation.
Take retreat as progress, and take static braking. Many people in the post-world disagree, and even think that this is the root of national inertia. At first glance, it is indeed a negative thing, and it can even be used as an excuse for mediocre cowards to live in backwardness and not make progress. However, if we understand it in a positive way, we will find it full of philosophy.
As we all know, haste makes waste, so it is better to keep quiet. It can be seen that "not daring to be the first in the world" is indeed philosophical and has reasonable factors. It inspires us to retreat for progress, to make static braking, to save our strength, to accumulate wealth and not to be thin, and to catch up later.
In view of the prevailing wind of fame and fortune at that time, Lao Tzu did not raise any controversy. He did not passively resist the social trend, but attempted to achieve an indisputable victory result with his selfless behavior. Laozi said: "goodness is like water, and water is the goodness of all things." "Because it is indisputable, the world can't compete with it."
People should follow the example of Tao in everything. Tao grows and nurtures everything, but it doesn't take everything as its own. It does not boast of its ability to cultivate all things, but it grows and cultivates all things without dominating them. Some people who have lost their enterprising spirit can indeed find some limited comfort from Laozi's thought of "contentment always leads to happiness". The "selfless" thought advocated by Laozi refers to the virtue of conforming to Tao and the expression of noble personality.
"I think the more people have, the more I give to others." Laozi believes that selfless love can fulfill oneself. Because in interpersonal communication, one party's behavior will inevitably have an impact on the other party, the river of love is a two-way interaction, and the feedback of love is a common phenomenon in social communication. Modest and friendly behavior will inevitably make others moved, infected and influenced, causing positive moral feelings and behaviors.
