Who am I?
I have a body, but I am not my body. I can see and feel my body, but these things that can be seen and felt are not real viewers. My body may be tired or excited, sick or healthy, heavy or light, anxious or calm, but it has nothing to do with my inner self, that is, seeing or watching. I have a body, but I am not my own.

I have desires, but I am not my own desires. I can know my own desires, but what can be known is not the real knower. Desires come and go, and will not affect the inner me. I have desires, but I am not my own desires.

I have feelings, but I am not my own. I can feel and perceive my own feelings, but it is not the real "feeler" who can be felt and perceived. Emotion flows through me, but it doesn't affect the inner me, that is, seeing or witnessing. I have feelings, but I am not my own.

I have a mind, but I am not my own mind. I can see and know my own thoughts, and what can be known is not the real knower. The growth and decline of thinking will not affect the inner me.

I am the only pure awareness left, and I am the witness of all thoughts, emotions, feelings and perceptions.

when we experience the witness or observation of future generations, we will begin to let go of our personal problems, worries and worries. In fact, we are not trying to solve our own problems and worries. Our only concern is to' look' at a particular distress, simply look at it without any knowledge, and not judge, dodge, strengthen, persist or resist them. When a feeling or perception arises, we look at it, and when a feeling of resentment arises, we also look at it. If the reaction of hating this resentment arises, we still look at it and do nothing. If there is any artificiality, we still look at it. What exists in all these distresses is' awareness of judgment', and we must understand that none of these distresses is our true self, that is, witnessing or observing itself. As long as we cling to these distresses, we will have subtle desires to manipulate them, and every action we take to solve them will only strengthen the illusion that we are' just' distresses. Therefore, the original intention to avoid distress has deepened it, or made it exist forever.

we don't fight against distress, but face it with a pure awareness of alienation and integrity. Many people who value mysterious experience and wise men like to compare this state of awareness to a mirror. We simply reflect the feelings or thoughts that arise, without fixing or pushing them away, just like a mirror reflects the things that exist in front of it completely and without bias. As Zhuangzi said: "If you are attentive to the mirror, you will not welcome it, but you should not hide it."

if you can really understand that you are not your own worries, those worries and worries will no longer threaten you. Even if worry still exists, it won't drown you, because you have nothing to do with it. You no longer fear it, resist it or run away from it. More thoroughly, you completely accept anxiety and allow it to move freely. You didn't gain or lose anything because of its existence or disappearance. You just watched it pass before your eyes, just like looking up at the sky and watching the clouds pass by.

Therefore, any emotion, perception, thinking, memory or experience that disturbs you is only preventing you from knowing your true self and what you have witnessed and seen, and the ultimate solution to these disturbances is to disagree with them. You should completely put them down and understand that they are not you-because you can see them, they are not real viewers, and because they are not your true self, there is no reason for you to identify with them, seize them, or allow yourself to be bound by them. To witness these states objectively is to transcend them.

If you keep practicing this exercise, your comprehension will be accelerated and your understanding of' ego' will begin to change. You will feel a profound freedom, light and liberation. Even if there is a whirlwind of anxiety and suffering around you, this' whirlwind center' can still maintain a sober peace. Finding the center of this witness is like jumping into the rough sea and diving into the quiet and peaceful seabed. At the beginning, you may only be able to dive a few feet deep. If you continue, you can dive into the depths of your soul, relax at the bottom, and watch the fluctuations above with an alert and alienated attitude.

Perhaps, in this way, we can understand the fundamental insights of those who value the mysterious experience-everyone has the same self and witness. Maybe, like most people, you feel that you are the same person as you were yesterday, and the same person as you were a year ago. You feel that you are the same person as you used to be. In other words, in your memory, you have never been you. What is certain, however, is that your body is different from that of a year ago, your feelings today are different from those of the past, and what you remember today is completely different from that of ten years ago. Your mind, body and feelings have changed over time. But one thing is the same, and you know that it has not changed, and it gives you the same feeling from beginning to end. What is this?

at this time a year ago, your concerns, problems, current experience and thoughts were completely different. All this has disappeared, but there is something left in your heart. Let's take a further look. If you move to a completely different country, you will have new friends, new environment, new experiences and new ideas. Even so, you still have a basic sense of inner self. But further, what if you forget the first ten, fifteen or twenty years of your life? You still feel the same self, don't you? Even if you just temporarily forget everything that happened to you in the past and just feel a pure inner self, has anything changed?

Simply put, there is something inside you-that deep sense of inner self-which is not memory, thinking, mind, body, experience, environment, feeling, conflict, perception or emotion. All this will change, and these changes will not have a substantial impact on the inner self. This true self is the witness or witness of future generations, and it will not disappear with the passage of time.

So, is it very difficult to understand that every conscious life has the same inner self? Is this transcendental true self integrated with everything? If you don't have a different body, you still have a constant true self, and other people feel the same at the moment. Then, can we say that there is a unique true self with different views, memories, feelings and perceptions?

not only in the present, but also in every moment, including the past and the future. Because you can clearly feel (even if your memory, mind and body have changed) that you are actually the same person as yourself 2 years ago (not the same person or body, but the same true self), then can't you feel the same true self 2 years ago at the same time? What does it mean if the true self doesn't depend on memory? The physicist Schrodinger once said,' These knowledge, feelings and choices, which are regarded as their own, did not jump into existence from nothingness at some time not long ago; On the contrary, these knowledge, feelings and choices basically exist in all people, even all sentient beings. Your existence is almost as old as a rock. For thousands of years, men have to work hard to produce, and women have to endure the pain of giving birth to children. Maybe someone was in this situation a hundred years ago, just like you. He watched the twilight depression with awe by the glacier. Like you, he was born by his mother and raised by his parents. Like you, he also felt pain and short-lived joy. Could he be someone else? Isn't he yourself?'

We may say that he can't be me, because I can't remember what happened at that time. This statement makes a serious mistake in confirming the true self by memory. What we must understand is that the true self is not a memory, but a witness or witness of memory. You may not be able to remember what happened last month until you still have a sense of true self. What if you can't remember what happened in the last century? You still have that transcendent sense of true self, which is unique in the whole universe, and it is the same as that of every newborn. We think he is different because we mistake it for personal memory, mind and body.

however, what is the inner self? It doesn't live with your body, it doesn't die with your death, it doesn't know time, it doesn't worry, it has no color, shape, organization or size, but it can see the world before your eyes. It can see the sun, clouds, stars and the moon, but it can't be seen by itself. It can hear birds singing, insects singing and waterfalls singing, but it can't be heard by itself. It can catch fallen leaves, ancient rocks and twisted branches, but it can't catch itself.

don't try to see your transcendental self, it's in vain. Can your eyes see itself? What you need to do is try to get rid of your misunderstanding of memory, mind, body, emotion and thinking. This escape cannot be achieved through superhuman efforts or theories. You only need to understand one thing, that is, nothing you see can be what you see, and everything you know about yourself is not the ego. This inner self cannot be perceived, defined or made an object in any way. Furthermore, when you are in contact with your true self, you can't see anything. You can only simply feel an inner freedom, liberation and openness, which has no restriction, oppression or object. Buddhism calls it' emptiness'. The real ego is not a thing, but a transparent sense of openness, or no longer identifying with any object or event. The bondage is actually the wrong identification of the visible things by the witnesses. As long as this wrong identification is reversed, freedom can be easily obtained.

This is a simple and difficult exercise, but its result can build a liberation in this life, because the transcendental self is regarded as the glory of the holy person everywhere. In principle, your transcendental self has the same essence as God. God only sees through your eyes, hears through your ears and speaks through your lips. Otherwise, how could St. Cremon say that knowing oneself is knowing God?

No matter American Indian, Taoist, Hindu, Islamic, Buddhist or Christian saints, wise men and mystics, there is a similar famous saying:' The bottom of your soul is the soul of human beings, which is sacred and transcendent, and it can lead you from bondage to liberation, from dreams to awakening, from time to eternity, from death to immortality.'
