What does God mean by this sentence?
Chapter 2 15 of 1 John of the Bible says, "Don't love the world and its things. If a man loves the world, his love for the father is not in him. 」

This is not wrong, but some people just like to distort and slander the Bible out of context, and even blaspheme our omnipotent and loving God. Similar tactics are common, so be careful not to be misled.

So what does this verse in the Bible mean? Please see the following section 16- 17 to explain: because everything in the world, such as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of this life, comes from the world, not from the father. The world and its lust will pass away, but those who do God's will will live forever.

People who take this sentence out of context will only tell you the contents of 15, and will not tell you the explanations of 16 and 17. What's the intention? We must think twice.

2. 15. Don't love the world and things in the world. If a man loves the world, his love for the father is not in him.

2: 16. Because everything in the world, such as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of this life, does not come from the father, but from the world.

2: 17. The world and its lust will pass away, but those who do God's will will live forever.

These three verses tell us two things: a, don't love the world, love the things in the world. B, why not love this world?

A, "don't love the world, love the things in the world"

What do you mean by "the world and things in the world"? There are the following three types:

1. Physical desires,

2. lust,

3. The arrogance of this life.

These three things can sum up all the evils against God in the world. Adam and Eve failed in these three things, and so did Christ's temptation to overcome the devil. From these three aspects, we can see that the devil lures people to betray God from beginning to end (see Gen 3: 1-6, Lu 4:1-1).

1. "Physical desire"

The lust here not only refers to the lust of men and women, but also includes all the selfish desires of people. Human beings did not have no desires before committing crimes, but at that time, human desires were in line with God's will. After a crime, people's desires follow the preferences of the body, which is not in the normal track, so it is called the lust of the body. Life should be simple, as long as you have food and clothing, you should be satisfied (1 Timothy. 6.8) It is not selfish for a person to eat whatever he should. But a person has to eat all day, and he has to eat if he doesn't eat properly. Stealing food, gluttony, and unrestrained eating are all selfish desires. This is the case with greed, and so is the greed for clothes, enjoyment, money, power, fame and wealth, vanity and so on.

2. "Visual desire"

The lust of the eyes and the lust of the body are all selfish desires that go against God's will. But physiological lust pays attention to physical enjoyment, while eye lust pays attention to psychological enjoyment. The devil tells people to enjoy all the benefits they get without restraint and selfishness; Seek psychological satisfaction for the benefits that have not yet been obtained. "Eye desire" is to satisfy people's desires psychologically.

Every desire for psychological satisfaction is actually a prelude for that person to prepare for crime according to what he thinks in his heart. This is why today's society is more and more cross-country and more daring to do evil. On the one hand, the devil encourages people to blindly covet material happiness, on the other hand, it encourages people to covet more happiness through the lust of eyes, thus increasing sin and pain. Today's Christians are bound to fall into temptation if they don't know how to be narrow-minded.

3. "Pride of this life"

Is everything that belongs to this life. Some people praise him for being rich, some people praise him for being famous, some people praise them for being beautiful, some people praise them for being knowledgeable, some people praise them for being powerful and so on. All these proud things are limited to this life. In fact, that's just another expression of "pride in this life"

Obviously, the lust of the body and the lust of the eyes are focused on the enjoyment of the body; "Pride in this life" is the most difficult crime to find, but it is the most dangerous crime. The devil and Adam and Eve both sinned because of pride. Christians must remember to feel inferior before the Lord and give all glory to God. Learn the humility of Christ. Let's crucify all our boasting in this life, just as Paul said:

But I will never boast of anything but the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of this cross, as far as I am concerned, the world has been crucified; As far as the world is concerned, I have been crucified "(Gal. 6: 14).

B, why not love this world?

Two reasons: 1. If a man loves the world, his love for his father is not in him. 」; 2. "The world and its lust will pass away, but those who do God's will will live forever. 」

1, "If a man loves the world, his love for his father is not in him. 」

If people love things in the world. Thoughts will revolve around these things. Indulge in it, always thinking about how to get it and how to get more. People's minds are full of selfish desires and ideas, so there is no room for thinking about God.

If a person longs for love instead of God. You will commit a crime. Because when you make a choice, you will violate God's will and command because you love someone else. So as to commit various crimes. Something other than God's love is the root of all evil. Therefore, to be friends with the world is to be enemies with God (James 4:4). If you want to give up sin, you must give up your greedy love for things in the world and concentrate on loving God.

"A person can't serve two masters; Either you hate this and love that, or you value this and despise that. You can't serve God and Maman at the same time. " (Matthew 6:24)

"The love of money is the root of all evil; Some people are greedy for money, so they are tempted to leave the truth and stab themselves with many sorrows. (6: 10 in advance)

"Because I love my parents too much, I am not worthy to be my disciple; Those who love my children too much are not worthy to be my disciples (Tai 10:37)

The devil uses things in the world to lure people away from God, make people fall and take people captive. Only those who love God more than anything in the world can overcome all kinds of temptations and become winners.

2. "The world and its lust will pass away, but those who do God's will will exist forever. 」

All material, physical and pornographic things are ephemeral and must die.

"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; On that day, the sky will disappear with a loud noise, all tangible things will be swallowed up by fire, and the earth and everything on it will be burned. Since all this will be destroyed in this way, how holy and godly you should be and how much you look forward to the day of God. On that day, the sky will be melted by fire and all tangible things will be melted by fire; But as he promised, we hope to have a new world where justice will exist. (3: 10- 13)

Only those who belong to God, those who are upright and those who do God's will will live forever.

In the Bible, the ways to teach believers to deal with the world are:

1, don't love (2:15)-don't be captured by the world.

2, don't imitate (Luo12: 2)-don't admire the world in thought, just follow it.

3, do not belong to (about15:19)-not assimilated by the world, seeking the smiling face of the "world".

4. Go to hell with the world (plus 6: 14).

5, such as dung (Phil. 3:7-8).

6. Come out of the world (2 Cor. 6: 17).

7. Faith in the Lord is better than it (5:4-5).
