Although everything is born with nature, Mencius believed that the nature of things is different from the nature of people. The shape and color of all things can be the same, but the nature of all things is inherently different! Dogs are different from cows, and cows are different from humans!
Human nature is good!
Human nature is like a willow, which flows smoothly into a cup; human nature is like water, which returns to a good place. Winter soup and summer water are not based on the seasons, but based on the heart; respecting the old and loving the young is not based on the age of the old and young, but is determined by the heart of the person!
People are not good because of their nature. It’s just because they don’t know how to look within themselves, it’s the outside world that changes them!
To illustrate his point of view, Mencius used many metaphors. For example, human nature is compared to planting wheat. Although the weather and timing are the same, the manpower is not uniform, so the harvest is very different. It means that human nature is good, but the environment and education are different, so the behavior is very different over time. The kindness of human nature is like a beautiful tree in the countryside. It has been cut down and gnawed by cattle and sheep. The bare branches have lost their original appearance!
To illustrate his point of view, Mencius used many analogies. For example, people's shoes are basically the same, and people's sense of taste, hearing, and vision are also basically the same, so people's nature and temperament should also be basically the same!
In order to illustrate his point of view, Mencius used many facts as arguments. For example, in real life, people often sacrifice their lives for righteousness and are not greedy for life and afraid of death. Even a beggar doesn't bother to eat the food that comes to him.
? Finally, Mencius called on everyone, "There is no other way to learn, just ask for peace of mind!" This heart is a kind heart! When a great craftsman teaches others, he must follow the rules! This rule is that human nature is good!
After reading this chapter, I not only fell into deep thinking, but also looked up at the world. There are all kinds of people in the world, playing tricks for self-interest, and even worse, harming others and enriching themselves. Animal heart, kind heart has long been eaten by the wolf. However, the simple villagers have no greed or anxiety. They enjoy everything with their hands and are willing to give. Everyone admires the beauty of human nature!
All saints are benevolent and charitable people!
All great people are those who benefit future generations!
Human nature is inherently good. Mencius established rules for future generations to judge the merits and demerits of historical figures throughout the ages!
