The famous lines in "Red Cliff Ode" are:
1. Even if a reed is like this, the vast expanse of land is at a loss.
The picture of a small boat drifting on the vast river is ready to emerge.
2. The vastness is like Feng Xu riding the wind without knowing where it stops; the flutteringness is like being left alone in the world, emerging into immortality.
The river is vast and boundless, and riding a small boat is like flying in the sky; floating as if out of the world, like giving birth to wings and flying up to become a fairy.
3. The osmanthus and the orchid paddle hit the sky and trace the light. I feel so vague in my heart, and look forward to the beauty in the sky.
The paddle made of osmanthus wood and the pulp of orchid wood beat against the clear and bright river water, and traveled against the current on the river surface where the moonlight floated. The beauty my heart longs for is in a far away place.
4. Sending mayflies to heaven and earth is a drop in the ocean. I mourn the brief moment of my life, and envy the boundlessness of the Yangtze River.
While boating on the river, the guests lamented: Life in heaven and earth is as short-lived as a mayfly, as small as a grain of rice in the sea, life is fleeting, and they envy the endless eastward flow of the Yangtze River.
5. Those who have passed away are like this, but they have not yet passed away; those who are full and weak are like that, but their deaths are not waxing and waning.
After the guests sighed, Su Shi responded: The river keeps flowing away, but it is always there; the moon waxes and wanes, but it is still the moon.
