/kloc-one of the greatest romantic poets in America in the 0/9th century. 1807 was born on February 27th in a lawyer's family in Portland, Maine. 1822 entered Bodoin College and was a classmate with Hawthorne. After graduation, I have been to France, Spain, Italy and Germany to learn the languages and literature of these countries. From 65438 to 0836, he began to teach language and literature at Harvard University 18 years, devoted himself to introducing the works of European culture and romantic writers, and became an important figure in the literary and social circles of Cambridge, the cultural center of New England. /kloc-published the first book of poetry in 0/839, including famous lyric poems such as Ode to Night, Ode to Life and Star Light. 184 1 published a collection of poems "Ballads and Others", including story poems "Armored Skull" and "Death of Venus", as well as "Country Blacksmith" and "Climbing Higher" with simple philosophy in narrative. This poem is full of refinement, struggle and optimism. These two poems were all the rage on both sides of the Atlantic, and he became a famous poet from then on. Longfellow's main poems include three narrative long poems, or "popular epics": Ivan Jilin (1847), Song of Hai Warsaw and The Proposal of Miles standish (1858). 1854 resigned from Harvard University, specializing in creation. The following year, Song of Warsaw at Sea was published. This is a long poem carefully conceived by Indian legends, describing the heroic achievements of Indian leader Hai Warsaw in defeating the enemy all his life, and his important contributions in ending tribal melee, teaching people corn, cleaning rivers and eliminating diseases. This is the first epic describing Indians in the history of American literature, but the material of the poem mainly comes from Skur Kraft's works, and the author lacks direct life experience. The rhythm of this poem completely imitates the Finnish epic Ka Laivaara. Although it was appreciated by readers at that time, it was criticized by some critics in later generations. Longfellow and his wife spent 17 years in a quiet villa in craigie from 1843. 186 1 year, his wife was unfortunately killed by fire, which has always made him extremely sad. Longfellow's creation in his later years was not lofty, and he was highly respected. Niu Law School and Cambridge University awarded him honorary doctorates respectively. On his 75th birthday, schools all over the United States held celebrations. Longfellow died on1March 24, 882. His bust was placed in a corner of Westminster Abbey in London, and he was the first American poet to win this honor.
