Yang Shuicai (1924-1966) was another heroic model figure in Henan Province after Jiao Yulu. He joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army in March 1949, made major contributions once and minor contributions twice in the battle to liberate Jiangnan, and was awarded the title of "People's Meritorious Service".

In November 1950, Yang Shuicai was demobilized and returned to Shuidaoyang Village, Xuchang County. In 1952, he served as an armed member of the village agricultural committee. In 1953, he established the first mutual aid group under the leadership of Shuidaoyang. In 1955, he served as senior social deputy President, joined the party on January 31, 1956, and concurrently served as the captain of the first production team of Shuidaoyang Village. He led the masses to fight drought and plant wheat, creating the experience of "uniting the wells into one and five dragons on duty", and led the masses to work on the east and west posts. Wells and water storage ponds were dug to solve frequent drought problems.

Later, he successively served as deputy director of Guicun Management District, principal of Shuidaoyang Primary School, and deputy secretary of the Party Branch of Shuidaoyang Brigade.
