But look closely, they are different.
(1): The premise is different.
As a complete ideological system, only Zhizong and idealism are constructed by some basic "assumptions". Every ideological system is rooted in its purpose and puts forward its basic assumptions. In fact, the purpose of the ancestor's establishment of epistemology is very clear-refuting doubt and proving truth, and idealism, as a philosophical category, aims to obtain spiritual freedom.
The two parted ways from the beginning of the purpose, and the assumption is even more irrelevant.
The assumption of "knowing only" is: knowing only and being inseparable.
Only knowledge thinks that all laws are the realization of knowledge-from the self-identification of body and mind to the realization of phase, and then from the separation of points to the consideration of differences, there is nothing else, so it is called "only knowledge".
Since all objective external environments are not real, they are illusory realization of subjective mind, then the environment changed by knowledge cannot exist independently without knowledge, so it is said that "knowledge is indispensable".
Judging from the hypothesis of this world, the two are completely different.
Although both of them are explaining the difference between subjective spirit and objective matter, the difference lies in that only knowledge does not think that spirit can derive matter, and only knowledge does not recognize the existence of matter if it admits it.
Knowing only thinks that the matter in our universe is only the creation of subjective spirit, that is, the so-called "knowing only is boundless", that is to say, there is only cognitive function and no cognitive object, or the cognitive object itself is a part of cognitive function.
Only knowledge is established to tell us that our real world is not real. There is no objective object in knowledge. Consciousness is established to tell us that our real world is not real-they are only a part of current consciousness.
Therefore, knowledge and environment are not the causal relationship of spiritual derivatives, but the relationship between virtual and real.
On the other hand. Buddhism does not think that "knowledge" is unique, it is the first cause of everything. Buddhism believes that all dharmas are born of interaction of karma, and "knowledge" is no exception. This is another place where Buddhism and idealism are completely different.
(B): Different bosom friends, Wei and Wei are also different.
When answering the difference between idealism and knowledge, the feast master once said: "Idealism regards the spiritual heart as an independent entity, such as Hegel's' absolute spirit'. And knowing only means not leaving knowledge. This kind of knowledge is not an ontological entity, but a continuous stream, a whole of life consciousness, rich in structural system and operating mechanism, and a conscious fact. "
This passage illustrates the difference between "mind" and "knowledge".
Epistemology is different from idealism. Epistemology is a waterfall-like fluid, not a solid, but a "constant flow", which shows that it is not broken, but very special. Knowledge is not an absolute spirit, but a continuous function.
Buddhism also says that "everything is created by idealism", but this heart is just synonymous with knowledge. The book "Dafa Yuan Yi Linzhang" has a cloud: the heart of the knower is also based on the heart, which is the foundation of the Lord, so it is called idealism; The essence of Zunda is to know only. It is said that the heart is the subject and foundation of karma, so the classics say that all methods are idealistic; The parting function of the heart is the basis of separation and understanding, so there are more three realms of only knowledge in the theory of only knowledge.
This heart is completely different from that of the first cause of idealism.
The uniqueness of knowledge and idealism have different meanings.
Master Piji, the founder of only knowing Sect, explained that this "power" has three meanings: simplicity, determination and victory.
The first layer means simplicity, that is, choosing and showing, that is, simply going to my method and relying on others persistently becomes a reality.
Fundamentally speaking, the Buddha's epistemology is used to get rid of the world paranoia that the outside world thinks the outside world exists.
It is said that the Buddha sings idealism, which is a good medicine for acupuncture to treat the ills of all beings.
The second meaning of the word "Wei" determines that it must be true, indicating that only knowledge and idealism are true.
The third meaning of the word "Wei" means victory, which means to emphasize the extraordinary victory of function. Idealism and epistemology are only to highlight the important and wonderful role of the heart, which is ignored by the world, in order to show that the heart is the key for all beings to sink into life and death and get rid of Buddhism.
The master voyeur Ji said in "On Hundred Laws": Among all the laws, knowledge is better than knowledge, and knowledge is the mainstay, so the first law is the mind.
The so-called obvious victory is a unique victory that highlights the soul in the "five hundred laws."
(3); Different theoretical sources
In addition to Buddhist classics, the theoretical source of only knowing Sect is more from the "religious experience" of ancestors and the "present quantity" obtained through the revision of certificates. The true colors of mountains and rivers and the subtle inner appearance are all "unknown and undocumented". However, in order to benefit all beings, our ancestors had to express this "present quantity" and "experience" with the concept of famous sayings to feed our ignorant brains.
It can be said that the construction of the theoretical system of only knowing Sect is a perfect example of transforming "local experience" into "universal truth"
In the final analysis, idealism is only the result of speculation, which is a kind of "rational speculation", and the theoretical source does not have the "enthusiasm" of knowing only the source of living water.
(4); The final appeal is different.
The attraction of epistemology lies in that epistemology regards itself as the unity of theory and practice, and also emphasizes the consistency of the process of "learning" and "revising the certificate", and the consistency of understanding and persistence, that is, the so-called "paying equal attention to interpretation and practice". In this sense, epistemology is not only ontology and epistemology in philosophy, but also ethics and moralism. (Quoted from Mr. Ni Liangkang)
Idealism is essentially a kind of knowledge, a philosophical theory in a strict sense, not a religious theory. Although there is also the appeal of practical idealism, the relationship between theoretical philosophy of idealism and practical philosophy is the basic relationship and causal relationship (that is, in Kant's Critique of Pure Reason, "what can I know" and then understand "what should I do"), rather than the two-sided relationship in epistemology. For this reason, idealism emphasizes theoretical speculation rather than theoretical practice, which is also its connection with the concept of yoga.
There is no real substance in the micro-world of the only-knowing Sect, and all substances are internal phenomena after observation. Some parts of this view are very similar to subjective idealism, but just because they are similar, we can't assume that only knowledgeable sects are idealism. It's like cattle and sheep have horns on their heads, but we can't think that cattle are sheep and sheep are cattle. Since all sects are founded by people, there must be some similarities, but subtle similarities are not enough to distinguish one from another.
