Li Kezheng, male, born in Nanjing on April 18, 1949, is currently a professor at Capital Normal University. He received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1985. After graduation, he served as Dickson Lecturer at the University of Chicago for two years. After returning to China, he taught at the Nankai Institute of Mathematics, the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Capital Normal University.
Have paid medium and short-term visits to Japan, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Vietnam, South Korea and Taiwan. He was invited to give a one-hour special lecture at the annual meeting of the Japanese Mathematical Society. He is one of the founders of the Tianyuan Fund for Mathematics. Li Kezheng’s academic experience
In the first grade of high school, Li Kezheng interrupted his studies due to the "Cultural Revolution", and then went to Sihong, northern Jiangsu in 1968 He worked in the county team for nearly 7 years and went to work at the Nanjing Hacksaw Factory in 1975. Without any undergraduate education, he was admitted to the University of Science and Technology of China and Fudan University for postgraduate studies at the end of 1977, and then studied in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Science and Technology of China.
In October 1979, he was sent by the Chinese Academy of Sciences to study at the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley. After enrolling in 1980, he soon received an exceptional scholarship and received his doctorate in May 1985.
His doctoral thesis was later published in Mathematische Annalen, one of the most influential magazines. Fields Medal winner Faltings personally wrote a review for the article (see Math. Review in 1989).
After graduation, Li Kezheng was employed as the L.E. Dickson Instructor at the University of Chicago. When the U.S. economy was booming and job opportunities were good, he resolutely returned to China in July 1987 in order to develop the discipline of algebraic geometry in our country.
