In the ten years since its establishment, the champions in the first nine years have all been won by powerful northerners. Some would even say that Chinese pigeons have won the championship. The north is strong and the south is weak, which makes many southern powerful men hesitate to start a business. At the beginning of 2017, Mr. Chen Shiyi of Zhejiang Speedy Pigeon Lofts, with twenty years of experience in breeding, raising, training and racing, took 225 pigeons with him and set up camp in Daning Village, Beijing, accompanied by two experienced coaches. Then, after the difficult four-level competition in the autumn, he finally won the overall championship of the four levels of Pioneer Iron Eagle, breaking the myth that the north is strong and the south is weak, and set an example for southern pigeon fanciers to enter the country.

1. Champions do not fall from the sky

Being able to become a champion does not fall from the sky, but must be perfect. If you can't do it, you won't win the championship. This is the ironclad truth. Our breeding pigeons are in good health. When it is hatching eggs, we try not to disturb it as much as possible and let it hatch its eggs quietly. When the little pigeon comes out, we take good care of it, feed it well, manage the domestic pigeon well, and have a careful plan for road training. In this way, every aspect is as good as it can be, and all the good things are concentrated on it. A championship naturally emerged. It is not easy to become a champion. We have done enough homework.

2. There are only two kinds of pigeons: good pigeons and bad pigeons

Is the pigeon of national blood or foreign blood? I don’t care about what system is formed, what brand, whether it is through introduction or crossbreeding. I think good pigeons are good. Just look at the pigeons and you will know it once you get started. It can be seen that the plains are better than the Feishan Mountains. If we raise too many pigeons, they will become quite valuable in our eyes. In my case, there is no distinction between national blood and foreign blood, only good blood and bad blood. There are only two kinds of pigeons, one is good pigeons, and the other is bad pigeons, which are eliminated pigeons. There is no third kind of pigeons. The pigeons with poor body shape, weak and sickly pigeons, or those with weak feather strips were all defective pigeons. I simply didn’t want them and dealt with them ruthlessly.

If bad pigeons are trained in the same way as champion pigeons, the bad pigeons will definitely not come back. The reason is very simple, the pigeons no longer look like pigeons. According to my personality, I don’t want such little pigeons, I’ll deal with them all, why would I want bad pigeons! I still say that when raising pigeons, we should not distinguish between imported pigeons and pigeons we cultivate ourselves, but we should distinguish whether they are good pigeons or bad pigeons. Only good pigeons have value. For example, a super breeding pigeon will have many offspring in our family. I will pair it with a super good pigeon. Every pigeon I pair will treat it as a champion pigeon. Only by treating them can we select champion racing pigeons.

3. Super Breeding Pigeons Pairing standard

Super breeder pigeon means that a female pigeon should look like a female pigeon. What kind of female pigeon is a good female pigeon, one that is gentle and has the light of motherhood; as for a male pigeon, it should be majestic and strong. The female pigeons in my loft are all sold for 50,000 yuan each. Her female pigeons fly very well, and the pigeons will cost thousands to tens of thousands of yuan in the future. We have Li Wenwu here and we raise them well, but others have the same pigeons and they raise them in a mess. Our training is to let the pigeons fly 280 to 300 kilometers every day, and we have our own standards for when to release them and when they must return.

It means how many kilometers and how long it will take to arrive. Once calculated, it must meet my requirements, and it must be completed in full, not one at a time.

Pairing of pigeons is very important. Technical excellence must be achieved to find the right combination of racing pigeons. Raising baby pigeons well is also key. There are three stages from birth to feeding, then 7 days, and then 15 days. The amount of feeding at each stage is different. The standards for raising babies after weaning are very strict and particular. What should I do if I lay eggs on the same day and hatch them on the same day? I have many pigeons and I have my own method. You have to be very careful when pairing pigeons. Every time you pair a pair, you hope to win the championship. Each pair must be matched according to A level and should be standardized. If it is divided into A, B and C, in the future, will A or B win the championship? Is it possible that it will be C? I can't control the pigeons flying in the sky, and they will be ranked wherever they fly back. Because you don’t know that that little pigeon will win the championship. You are not a god, so you can’t tell. Therefore, don’t divide ABC when pairing. All pigeons are matched according to the championship level and treated equally. Only the young pigeons produced can meet the standard.

4. Financial resources, intelligence, hard work and luck are the sources of success

When it comes to adjustments, there is a lot to learn here. Just like people, pigeons have different temperaments and personalities and cannot be treated uniformly. Some pigeons are in condition and some are not. Our goal is to adjust all pigeons to the best condition.

Being successful in Beijing is not as simple as just adjusting the pigeons to the best condition, but a matter of comprehensive ability. Starting a business requires financial resources, intelligence, hard work and luck. Everyone has good pigeons, so luck is also involved. However, there is certainty in chance. If the pigeons are not good, there will be no luck. All financial resources, intelligence, hard work, and luck must be combined to have the possibility of winning the championship and reaching the top. Each one is indispensable.

How is the Ace Pigeon Champion born? Training is the key, and our pigeon training can be described in two words: crazy! A crazy magical bird was trained crazily.

We flew like this every day when we were in Shanghai a few years ago. If you are tired, take a day off. If you are not tired, continue. Don’t be afraid of flying when the weather is nice. The result of our pigeons' crazy training is only muscles and no fat. People come to our place to see the pigeons and they all say, wow! Your pigeons are well raised.

I give gifts to Kaifang, and others also give gifts to Kaifang. It’s not just me who is great, other people’s pigeons are also good pigeons. I always have such a sense of urgency, so I will continue to practice, work hard, and never relax.

In fact, it is very difficult for us to win the championship. We can win any championship at will. There were 3,500 pigeons that day, and more than 2,000 pigeons came back that day. Ouch, the pioneering pigeons are really fierce. The third pass was 580 kilometers, and there was a strong wind of level 6 that day. We would definitely not be able to return to weather like this in other public sheds.

5. How big the confidence is, how big the stage is

I think Chuanghuang is the most intense place for pigeon racing in China and even the world. All the pigeons that participate in Chuangchuang are not ordinary pigeons. It is said that the competition in Chuangchuang is bloody and it is the biggest stage in the Chinese pigeon world. Not an exaggeration at all.

Then why start a business? To be honest, the bonus is also high, which is tempting. As I said before, as long as you have the financial resources, hard work, and luck, you will definitely get good results. We worked very hard in 2017, and everyone on our team put in a lot of effort. It would be impossible to achieve excellent results without hard work. In 2018, we will work harder to challenge higher goals, and we are confident enough. What I often say is: How big your confidence is, how big your stage is.

No one has ever won consecutive championships before. In 2018, we will fight again to create a club with the mentality that a championship is rare and hard to come by. Everyone is equal before the championship. We can only seize the opportunity by ourselves. The door to the championship is open to everyone. I'm not someone who talks empty words.
