It was the third grade. I listened carefully in class and got good grades. Gradually, I began to be proud, and I didn't listen carefully in every class, otherwise my classmates would talk, make small moves, and the teacher wouldn't do well. But the good times didn't last long, and bad luck came to me. The unit exam is coming again. It's from China. As soon as the test paper was handed out, I looked at the topic and said,' Wow, can I do such a simple question?' So I drew two strokes without checking, and stood there in a daze, thinking that I must be the first in this exam again. I am very happy. I didn't expect the test paper to be distributed in a few days. I only got 72 points, which is the least I got. When I came home from school, my mother was already standing at the door. Seeing that I was back, I greeted her and said, "Baby, come back, come quickly!"! Hearing this, my tears welled up. My mother asked me what was going on. I told my mother why my Chinese scores and exams were so poor. My mother didn't scold me, but told me one thing: modesty makes people progress, and pride makes people fall behind. After listening to my mother, I told myself in my heart: I must do well in the exam next time. After my unremitting efforts, I finally arrived at the unit exam again. I answered the question carefully, checked it, and gave 95 points on the test paper. I finally returned to the original, and finally realized the happiness of success! Suddenly my heart is as sweet as honey!
Through this incident, "modesty makes people progress, pride makes people lag behind" has become my motto that inspires life.
