The recycling value of plastic bags is low. In the process of use, plastic bags are not only scattered in urban streets, tourist areas, water bodies, highways and railways, but also potentially harmful. Plastic has a stable structure, is not easily degraded by natural microorganisms, and does not separate in the natural environment for a long time. This means that if the waste plastic garbage is not recycled, it will become a pollutant in the environment, permanently exist and accumulate, causing great harm to the environment.
First of all, it affects agricultural development. The accumulation of waste plastic products mixed in soil will affect the absorption of nutrients and water by crops, resulting in crop yield reduction.
Second, it poses a threat to the survival of animals. Waste plastic products discarded on land or in water are swallowed by animals as food, resulting in animal death. Last year, there were 20 herders near Qinghai Lake, nearly 1,000 sheep died and the economic loss was more than 300,000 yuan. Sheep like to eat oil residue wrapped in plastic bags, but they often eat together. Because the plastic they eat is difficult to digest in the stomach for a long time, the stomach is crowded, they can't eat any more, and finally they can only starve to death. Such things are common in zoos, pastoral areas, rural areas and oceans.
Thirdly, waste plastics will not only occupy a lot of land with landfill, but also the occupied land will not be restored for a long time, which will affect the sustainable use of land. Waste plastic products entering domestic garbage will not degrade for 200 years if they are buried.
It does great harm to the land, changes its pH value, affects the absorption of nutrients and water by crops, and leads to agriculture.
As for plastic products discarded in water or on land, it will not only affect the environment, but also lead to death if swallowed passively. This destroys the ecological balance.
Fourth, decompose toxic substances at high temperature. Plastic products are not toxic substances, but because of their recyclability.
The equipment used is not perfect, the process is simple, and many manufacturers do not have legal business licenses, which leads to duplication.
When the temperature of plastic products reaches 65℃, toxic substances will precipitate and penetrate into food, causing harm to important parts of human body such as liver, kidney, reproductive system and central nervous system.
Not long ago, the General Office of the State Council issued the Notice on Restricting the Production, Sale and Use of Plastic Shopping Bags to the people's governments of all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and the ministries and agencies directly under the State Council. The notice pointed out: In view of the fact that shopping bags have become the main source of "white pollution", local people's governments and ministries and commissions will ban the production, sale and use of ultra-thin plastic shopping bags in the future, and will implement a system of paid use of plastic shopping bags. Since June 1 2008, all supermarkets, shopping malls, bazaars and other retail places have implemented the system of paid use of plastic shopping bags, and plastic shopping bags are not allowed to be provided free of charge.
Plastic bags play an indispensable role in our life. China consumes a lot of plastic bags every year. In China, there are 10 billion plastic bags used to buy food every day, and the consumption of other plastic bags exceeds 2 billion every day. Shopping in supermarkets and markets with plastic bags provided by merchants has long been a habit in our lives.
However, plastic bags not only provide convenience for consumers, but also cause serious waste of energy resources and environmental pollution due to excessive use and difficulty in recycling. In particular, ultra-thin plastic bags are easy to be damaged, and our people's awareness of environmental protection is weak. After use, most of them are discarded at will and scattered on urban streets, tourist areas, water bodies, highways and railways, causing "visual pollution" and becoming the main source of "white pollution". At present, more and more countries and regions restrict the production, sale and use of plastic shopping bags.
As soon as the China Plastic Restriction Order comes out, it means that our living habits will inevitably change, and we will return to the life of carrying vegetable baskets. Therefore, it has caused many opinions and remarks. Some of them may get used to the convenience brought by plastic bags in life and ignore the harm it causes and hold different opinions.
The plastic bag was invented by Austrian scientist Max Schuschny on 19021October 24th. This kind of packaging is both light and strong, and is deeply loved by customers and businesses. Therefore, shops and food markets have provided free plastic bags. But this invention brought us serious environmental problems after 100 years.
Because plastic bags are mostly non-renewable degradable materials, the plastic structure is stable, it is not easy to be degraded by natural microorganisms and will not be separated in the natural environment for a long time. These white wastes can only be treated by digging or burning at high temperature. Both methods are not conducive to environmental protection. The landfill of waste plastics will not only occupy a lot of land, but also the occupied land will not be restored for a long time. Buried plastic bags need more than 200 years to rot, which is very harmful to the land, will change the pH of the land, seriously pollute the soil, affect the absorption of nutrients and water by crops, lead to reduced agricultural production and affect the sustainable use of the land. Harmful smoke and toxic gases produced by incineration will also pollute the atmospheric environment. So now plastic bags have become the "worst invention" of mankind in the 20th century.
The implementation of the plastic restriction order is precisely to solve or alleviate a series of environmental problems caused by the excessive use of plastic bags. From June 2008 1, everything will be different. Plastic bags with a thickness of 0.025 mm, that is, ultra-thin plastic bags, will be banned from production, sale and use. In order to improve the service life of plastic bags, let people use them reasonably, save use and reduce pollution. All supermarkets, shopping malls, bazaars and other retail places will no longer provide free plastic bags, encourage consumers to pick up cloth bags again, carry food baskets with heavy wages, reuse durable shopping bags and reduce the use of plastic bags.
Environmental protection is not a matter for one person or two, but for everyone, the country and future generations. It needs the joint action and participation of the whole society. We only have one earth. From the perspective of sustainable development, the plastic limit order will be a measure to benefit future generations. Maybe in the near future, plastic bags will disappear from our lives.
Caring for the environment is everyone's responsibility! Let's free ourselves from the imprisonment of using plastic bags!
