Ilya Yafimovich Repin (English name: Ilya Yafimovich Repin) is a Russian painter and an important representative of the traveling exhibition school. Born in Chuguev, studied at the Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts. From 1873 to 1876, he traveled to Italy and France to study European classical and modern art. After returning to China, he painted diligently and created a large number of historical paintings, genre paintings and portraits, which showed the people's poverty and suffering and their desire for a better life. In 1878 he participated in the traveling exhibition of the Society of Fine Arts. His representative works include "Trackers on the Volga River", "The Propaganda Arrested", "Unexpected Return", "The Zaporozhians Reply to the Turkish Sultan" and "Tolstoy".
