Many people can't tell Taoism from Taoism, and the relationship between them is inheritance and inheritance. Obviously, the two cannot be confused.
Some Taoist thoughts were not initiated by Laozi, and various Taoist thoughts had appeared before him. These thoughts are all related to Tao, but they are not systematic. Laozi systematized and standardized these scattered and disorderly theories on the basis of predecessors' thoughts and his own understanding.
Thus came an academic school-Taoism, which was one of the schools of thought contending during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Confucianism advocates "benevolent politics", Mohism advocates "simple love" and "non-aggression", and Legalism advocates "legal system" and "hegemony". Like these schools, Taoism also has its own political proposition-governing by doing nothing.
