Yuci County Office, located on the north side of East Street, is a well-preserved county-level office in China and a must-see place in Yuci Old Town. Yuci county yamen, as the most basic office of feudal bureaucracy, is the epitome of ancient yamen culture in China. The overall layout, scale and shape of the county government reflect the characteristics of the local officials in Ming and Qing Dynasties, which are "sitting north facing south, writing left and typing right, facing forward and sleeping behind". The official's son of this county not only has the office area where the county grandfather sits in court for trial, but also the living area of the family members in the backyard and the part of the temple sacrifice. The main buildings of the county official's son are all built on the same central axis, which is also the main route for sightseeing. After entering the county government, you can see the instrument door of the county government (that is, the second door). The horizontal plaque under the eaves of Yimen reads "the capital of Shanxi", which shows that Yuci was once the capital of Shanxi. This couplet was given to Zu Liangcai, the then magistrate of a county, by Emperor Kangxi during his inspection. The official's son of this county also has temples such as Maohou Temple, Yaci Temple and Prison Temple to visit.
