5. Be loyal when you think forward, make up for your mistakes when you think back, adapt to the good things, and save the bad things, so the superiors and subordinates can be close to each other.
When a gentleman serves the monarch, he must consider how to do his best when doing things. Afterwards, he must consider whether there are any mistakes and how to make up for them. He must obey the monarch's beautiful words and deeds and correct and stop the monarch's wrong actions. Therefore, the relationship between the monarch and his ministers is close. .
6. Establish oneself and practice the Tao, and be famous for future generations to show off one's parents, which is the end of filial piety.
It means: When people are in the world, they should follow benevolence, righteousness and morality, make achievements, and make their reputation known to future generations, thereby making their parents famous and glorious. This is the ultimate goal of filial piety.
7. A gentleman is filial to his relatives, so loyalty can be transferred to the king; he is a brother-in-law, so obedience can be transferred to his elders.
If a gentleman can be filial to his relatives, he must be sincere in love and respect. If he serves the king with sincerity in love and respect, he must be loyal to the king. If he can respect his brother, he must have a pleasant attitude. If you approach your superiors with a pleasant attitude, you will be able to obey them.
8. The Master said: Those who love their relatives do not dare to be evil to others; those who respect their relatives do not dare to be rude to others. Love and respect are given to relatives, and moral education is imposed on the people, and punishment is imposed on the world. It also reflects the filial piety of the emperor.
Confucius said: "Those who can love their own parents will not hate other people's parents. People who can respect their own parents will not neglect other people's parents. People who love and respect their parents will do their best to treat them with love and respect. Serving one's parents, imparting virtuous teachings to the people, and making the people of the world obey and imitate them. This is the filial piety of the emperor.
