Longines history and culture
Longines began in Somia, Switzerland on 1832. It has a history of nearly 200 years and exquisite craftsmanship. Before it was acquired by Swatch, it was an independent brand, always taking the high-end route, and it can also produce movements independently. Longines had many high-end and complicated watch styles at that time, especially in the traditional timekeeping field. In the past, the technological research and development capability was even inferior to that of Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe, because in 1930s and 1940s, Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe could only use the finished movement provided by the movement factories such as Lemania.
