Tupac Inka Yupanki (Quechhua: Tupaq Inka Yupanki, Spanish: Túpac Yupanqui. "Tupac" means shining or outstanding; [1] "Inca" is a royal male title; [2] Yupanki is another elegant title for the Inca king. [3]), monarch of the Inca Empire (Sapa Inca), reigned from about 1471 to 1493. [4] Tupac Inca Yupanqui inherited the empire foundation of his late king Pachacutik. During his reign, he carried out extensive conquests and greatly expanded the Inca territory.

Tupac Inca Yupanqui was regarded as an amiable commander in Inca history and had excellent military skills. He devoted himself to the expansion of territory, so by the time of his death, the Incas had expanded into a large empire stretching from Ecuador in the north to central Chile in the south.
