Yangshuo's landscape is the best in Guilin.
The peaks reflect the mountains, and
No mountains, no water, no ecstasy.
The author is Wang Zhenggong.
Speaking of "Guilin's landscape is the best in the world", it is a household name. But the source of this immortal famous sentence is little known.
81 years ago, in the Song Dynasty, Wang Zhenggong, who was in charge of the prison and government affairs in Guangxi at that time, wrote poems in public at a farewell banquet for Guilin candidates who went to Beijing to take the exam, and first put forward the theory that "Guilin's landscape is the best in the world". In 1983, when the cultural relics workers in Guilin were cleaning up the stone carvings of Duxiufeng, they accidentally found the words "Guilin's landscape is the best in the world" engraved here.
Due to the development of tourism in Song Dynasty, many people left praise similar to that of Wang Zhenggong. For example, Zhang Xun's "Guilin's landscape is the crown of Hengxiang", Deng Gong's "Guilin's caves are the crown of the world", and Zhang Xiaoxiang's "Guilin's landscape is the best in the southeast" and so on. Among them, Li Zengbo in the late Southern Song Dynasty wrote "Guilin's mountains and rivers are the best in the world" in "Rebuilding the West Hunan Building", which is very similar to Wang Zhenggong's formulation.
In addition, according to the current research, it is found that the earliest article praising Guilin's landscape in history came from Yan Yanzhi, a great scholar in the Southern and Northern Dynasties. In the early years of Yuanjia in Song Wendi (AD 424), he came to visit Duxiufeng in Guilin, and when he realized the landscape, he wrote the poem "Those who have not stood out alone are among the cities".

Wang Wei
From: Zhouzhuanghe
Wang Wei, a native of Qizhou, Taiyuan (now Qixian, Shanxi Province), was a scholar in the ninth year of Kaiyuan, and was appointed as Dalecheng. Therefore, he was demoted to join the army in Jeju. Zhang Jiuling as prime minister, promoted him to right gleaning, transferred to supervise the suggestion. In the Anshi Rebellion, he was captured by the rebels and given a false post. After Chang 'an and Luoyang were recovered, they were demoted to Prince Zhong Yun, and later promoted to Shang Shu You Cheng, who was known as Wang Youcheng. Wang Wei was ambitious and enthusiastic in his early days and wrote some high-spirited poems. After Zhang Jiuling's strike, he gradually turned to depression, believed in Buddhism, remained in seclusion for a long time, and wrote a lot of pastoral poems, showing a negative tendency to escape from reality. However, some landscape poems, with vigorous and Qingyuan style, described the beauty of the motherland's rivers and mountains, which was praised by Su Shi as "painting in poetry" and became an outstanding representative writer of the pastoral poetry school in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, which advanced the poetic art of describing natural scenery since Jin and Song Dynasties. Wang Wei is a great poet besides Li Bai and Du Fu. Wang Wei is versatile. Apart from writing poems, he is also amazed at painting, music and calligraphy. He can apply the theory of painting and music to poetry, reaching a high artistic level of perfect combination of poetry and painting. There is Wang Youcheng Collection, with more than 4 poems.
