Sadi's full name is Sehmus Leding Abdullah Sadi Shiraz, a Persian (now Iranian) poet. He, Ferdowsi and Chamsi Hafez are called the three great Persian poets in the Middle Ages. The first book of poetry, Orchard, was written in 1257, and the famous Rose Garden was completed the following year.
