Later, the Buddha explained: a flower is a world, a grass is a day, a leaf is a Buddha, a sand is a blessing, a pure land, a smile is a dust, and a meditation. All this is a state of mind. If there is nothing in my heart, I can spend a world and a grass in heaven. Understand these, a flower and a grass is the whole world, and the whole world is as empty as flowers and plants. The mystery of the universe lies in an ordinary flower. Later, these words were condensed into the classic saying "One flower, one world, one leaf and one bodhi".
So how to understand this sentence?
1, "One flower and one world", the Buddha means: as long as you put aside all selfish distractions and concentrate on research, you will explore the principle of the cycle of everything from the growth and change of a flower, and by extension, you can understand the development law of the whole nature and the world. The Buddha's sumeru is a pure lotus flower, symbolizing the reincarnation of all things and the noble character of the Buddha.
2. "One leaf and one bodhi", the Buddha practices Buddhism under the bodhi tree. Sitting under the bodhi tree, he watched the bodhi leaves sprout and fall repeatedly, experienced the cold and heat, understood the changing cycle of the world, and wrote his own experience on the bodhi leaves, which is the original Buddhist scriptures. Later, people regarded Bodhi leaves as the representative of Buddhist scriptures (Bodhi Sutra). From the growth and change of each bodhi leaf, we can understand the true meaning of the development and change of all things in the world, and each bodhi leaf carries the truth of Buddhism.
Buddhism is profound and profound. Only by eliminating distractions and studying hard can we understand its mystery. Only by understanding the true meaning can we understand the influence of Buddhism on the introverted, implicit, profound and broad spiritual world of the Chinese nation. This is the difference between Buddhism and other doctrines.
Although I have studied it for many years, I only look at its portal, and I am writing this article to learn from Dafang.
