Chinese Teachers’ Day
(September 10) January 21, 1985, the ninth meeting of the Sixth National People’s Congress Standing Committee celebrated Teachers’ Day
The meeting made a resolution to designate September 10th every year as my country’s Teachers’ Day. Respecting teachers and valuing education is a fine tradition in China. As early as the Western Zhou Dynasty in the 11th century BC, it was proposed that "disciples serve as teachers and respect their father." "Review the past and learn the new", "Learn and learn from time to time" and a series of wise sayings. Teachers who preach, impart knowledge and resolve doubts are praised by the Chinese as engineers of the human soul. In fact, as early as 1932, the Republic of China government designated June 6 as Teachers' Day. After liberation, Teachers' Day on June 6 was abolished and "May 1st International Labor Day" was used as Teachers' Day. However, there was no separate event for Teachers' Day. , no characteristics. The reason why Teachers' Day is set on September 10 is to take into account the beginning of the new school year in universities, middle schools and primary schools across the country, and schools must have a new atmosphere. From the beginning of freshmen's enrollment, respecting teachers and teaching can create a good atmosphere for "teachers teach well and students learn well". September 10, 1985, was the first Teachers’ Day restored in China. From then on, teachers had their own holiday.

(October 5) To commemorate the 1966 Recommendation on the Status of Teachers jointly issued by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) ", UNESCO designated October 5 every year as World Teachers' Day in 1994.
