A U.S. passport (Passport) is an official certificate of "U.S. citizenship." If your newborn is a U.S. citizen, you can apply to get a U.S. passport for use when traveling abroad.

Documents required for applying for a passport

To apply for a U.S. passport, you must provide the following documents:

①Proof of U.S. citizenship, birth certificate for newborns prove.

② Two recent 2-inch × 2-inch photos taken within six months: must be taken by a professional photographer who understands the photo pose and size requirements, the size is 2 inches by 2 inches, Head size ranges from one inch to one and three-eighths inches.

③ Complete the passport application form FORM DS-11. You cannot sign in advance at the signature place. ④Private check or post office money order:

$40 + $12 security fee for under 18 years old (increased fee due to the use of Micro chip)

If processed at the post office , and there is a post office processing fee of US$30 (including delivery fee)

⑤The application requires parents and new students to be present, and parents need to provide identification, so don’t forget to bring your driver’s license when applying. When the time comes, parents are required to sign and swear that the materials are correct

① Post office: some post offices that can accept passport applications. Postal service employees designated by the Postmaster General shall accept applications.
